Fiery red hair swayed in the breeze, and her ruby eyes flickered, their usual intensity replaced by a subtle unease, a barely perceptible tremor betraying her inner turmoil.

“Well, well… Look who it is…”

“Professor?”

At the end of the line, they found Professor Adria, their instructor known for her strictness and harsh demeanor.

She looked flustered by the unexpected encounter and averted her gaze slightly.

“What a coincidence… seeing you here.”

She cleared her throat, her ears tinged with red.

“Um… I’m a little curious why you’re here, Professor.”

Elisha was the first to speak, a mixture of surprise and amusement in her voice.

“I’m here to… to get my fortune told, of course.”

The professor hesitated for a moment, then confessed, trying to appear nonchalant, brushing her hair back with one hand.

“Of course, I didn’t neglect my duties! I finished all my work and got permission before coming here.”

“Ah, I see.”

He nodded, accepting her explanation. But her flustered demeanor only made him more suspicious.

“But Professor, I heard this fortune teller is famous for romantic fortunes.”

Melina tilted her head and asked innocently. Professor Adria was speechless for a moment, trying to hide her embarrassment.

“W-Well… yes… But they don’t only tell romantic fortunes, do they? I just came here because I heard it was quite famous.”

“I’m definitely not here for a romantic fortune…”

The professor tried to maintain her usual stern composure, but it felt unnatural, especially to him, who knew her true personality.

“…Anyway, please keep it a secret from the other students that you saw me here.”

She made a final request and walked towards the front of the line.

“It’s surprising to see you here, Professor.”

“It is a bit unusual. But why did she ask us to keep it a secret?”

“Maybe there’s a reason she’s acting so flustered, unlike her usual self?”

“It’s a bit unexpected, but since she asked us to keep it a secret…”

They all seemed surprised and curious about their encounter with Professor Adria. They were intrigued but seemed willing to honor her request.

◇ ◇ ◇

“Welcome.”

“G-Greetings.”

Time passed, and it was Adria’s turn. As she lifted the tent flap, she was enveloped in a strange darkness.

A slightly musty smell and a faint, mystical fragrance filled the air.

“What brings you here?”

The fortune teller was an old woman with deep wrinkles. But she wasn’t just an ordinary old woman.

Her eyes seemed to pierce through everything, and a knowing smile played on her lips.

Adria was momentarily speechless, feeling a sense of intimidation.

“I heard you’re a renowned fortune teller.”

She glanced back. The murmurs from outside the tent were still audible, but it felt like she was in a completely different world.

The fortune teller, sensing her unease, spoke in a gentle voice,

“Don’t worry. This tent is separated from the outside world by a special magic. No one can hear our conversation, so you can relax.”

Adria, slightly relieved, took a deep breath and sat down where the fortune teller gestured.

She sat stiffly, facing the fortune teller, and spoke hesitantly,

“Actually… I’m turning thirty soon. And I’ve never even had a proper relationship, let alone a marriage proposal.”

Her voice trembled, her face flushing with embarrassment. She was known for being a cold and strong teacher, but showing this vulnerable side of herself wasn’t easy.

The fortune teller looked at her with interest, nodding slowly.

“I understand. Especially in this world, where thirty is considered past the ideal marrying age, it’s only natural to be worried.”

Adria nodded and sighed softly.

“So… I came here to see if… if there’s any romance in my future, or if I’m destined to be alone.”

The fortune teller smiled and extended her hand. A faint light emanated from her fingertips, and a mystical aura enveloped the crystal ball.

“Very well. I shall divine your fate. Could you please touch the crystal ball? If possible, imbuing it with your magic power will allow me to see more clearly.”

Adria nervously placed her hand on the crystal ball, closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and channeled her magic power.

The crystal ball glowed with a bright, violet light as her magic flowed into it.

“Hmm… Interesting.”

The fortune teller gazed into the crystal ball, her eyes gleaming. Her expression was a mixture of curiosity and amusement, as if she had discovered something significant.

“I’ve seen enough.”

The fortune teller looked up at Adria, who fidgeted nervously, swallowing hard.

“So… how… how does it look?”

The fortune teller rested her chin on her hands and smiled.

“A man awaits you at the end of your path. A strong, destined connection. It’s a good fortune, so you can rest assured.”

Adria’s eyes widened, and the fortune teller continued,

“He is likely younger than you and quite powerful. And he’s closer than you think.”

Adria felt a surge of excitement.

The news of a potential romance was a sweet melody to her ears, a woman who had always been far removed from love. But then, her face flushed crimson.

If the fortune teller was right, there was only one person who came to mind.

“No way…”

Adria muttered involuntarily, a clear image of him appearing in her mind. Her heart pounded as his image became clearer.

“Perhaps it’s a name you already know.”

Adria was even more flustered by the fortune teller’s words. The description pointed towards a specific person.

Her heart pounded with a mixture of anticipation and anxiety. She lowered her head, pressing her hand against her chest, and muttered,

“Younger, strong, and close…”

She clenched her fists, her heart racing, her gaze wandering aimlessly. But every time she closed her eyes, a single face appeared vividly in her mind, shining brightly before her, as if destined.

◇ ◇ ◇

He entered the fortune teller’s tent, and a faint, mystical fragrance filled the air, creating a dreamlike atmosphere.

The interior was cozy yet mysterious, filled with strange objects that piqued his curiosity. An old woman with hazy eyes sat in the center, her gaze seemingly piercing through him, as if she could see into his soul.

“Oh, welcome… Which of you would like to go first?”

The fortune teller slowly turned her gaze towards them, her eyes filled with a strange mix of curiosity and anticipation, like a scholar observing a fascinating specimen.

“…….”

He glanced at the others after the old woman spoke.

“Who wants to go first?”

“Hmm, I don’t mind.”

“Me neither.”

“Same here.”

No one volunteered, each hesitant and seemingly conscious of the others.

“May I go first?”

He finally stepped forward. He didn’t know what Varis and the girls were planning to ask, but they were all clearly hesitant, as if waiting for someone else to take the lead.

He felt that the awkward silence would continue if he didn’t do something.

“Very well. However, I have a policy of keeping the fortunes I tell confidential, between myself and the client. Would the rest of you mind waiting outside?”

The fortune teller smiled apologetically, but her tone was firm, as if emphasizing the importance of following the rules in this place.

“Is that so? Master, then we’ll wait outside.”

“W-We’re not forcing you, but…! Maybe we can share what we heard later…?”

They each made promises to meet him later and left the tent. A heavy silence fell over the tent, as if time itself had stopped. He took a deep breath and stood before the fortune teller.

“Please, have a seat. What do you wish to know?”

The old woman gestured towards a chair with a low voice. He slowly sat down, lost in thought. Having his fortune told… now that he was actually in this situation, his vague questions began to take shape.

“I want to know what will become of me. Will I face tragedy in the near future?”

His question was a natural one, considering his situation in this world, the meaning behind the name “Arnold.”

He was destined for ruin in the original story, and he wanted to know if he could avoid that fate.

“I understand. Please place your hand on the crystal ball. Imbuing it with your magic power will allow me to see a more accurate vision.”

He carefully placed his hand on the crystal ball as instructed, took a deep breath, and slowly channeled his magic power.

The crystal ball glowed with a soft, violet light, illuminating the tent.

“Oh, hahahaha!”

Suddenly, the fortune teller’s eyes widened, and she burst into laughter.

What had she seen? Her laughter was filled with a strange mix of amusement and confidence, as if she knew everything.

“What did you see?”

“Very interesting. I’ve seen countless fates in my long life, but this is a first! Such a unique destiny… I’m intrigued by everything about you. You’re different from anyone I’ve ever encountered.”

Her words filled him with a strange mix of fear and anticipation. Considering that he was an anomaly in this world, her reaction was strangely reassuring.

“Anyway, to answer your question… well,”

He remained silent, his heart filled with a mixture of worry and curiosity.

“Your fate is so unpredictable that I can’t say for certain, but… it’s not negative.”

He was slightly relieved by her words. The fortune teller’s mystical aura made the situation even more dramatic.

He was surprisingly engrossed in this. It was just a fortune…

“Is that so?”

“Yes. And this is a bonus for showing me such an interesting fate. I’ll also tell you your romantic fortune. It’s actually my specialty.”

The fortune teller moved her fingers and gazed into the crystal ball again. But he didn’t have high expectations for his romantic fortune. Arnold was a villain destined for ruin, not for love—

“It’s probably going to be something terrible…”

—“Many women await you at the end of your path. At least six, I believe. In other words, you’ll likely have six wives.”

…What?
