The air in the training grounds was still thick with tension. It was difficult to predict the victor in this evenly matched battle.

“Alright, the tide is turning in my favor!”

However, based on the current situation, Melina seemed to have a slight advantage.

Eilly and Elisha had both sustained injuries and were visibly exhausted, but Melina remained unscathed, her perfect condition giving her the upper hand.

Melina’s eyes were filled with confidence and composure. Every movement was sharp and fluid, as if she could already taste victory.

“Alright, I didn’t want to use this because it’s dangerous… but I have no choice.”

But just then, Elisha spoke, her voice brimming with confidence. It wasn’t just bravado; a heavy aura began to fill the training grounds.

“I’ll end this in one blow—”

Elisha’s voice was as cold as ice, but her words were filled with fiery determination. Ice and fire simultaneously emanated from her hands.

The conflicting magic intertwined, creating a complex and oppressive aura that pressed down on the surroundings.

“Oh fierce flames, oh silent ice, opposing fates united, grant me the power to burn and freeze all things.”

“Swirling vortex of crimson flames and azure frost, explode within my grasp!”

Elisha chanted the incantation.

As she extended her hand, a blinding light erupted, and a massive sphere of fire and ice materialized before her.

Flames flickered at its edges, the sharpness of ice and the intensity of fire merging into one.

It wasn’t simply a mixture of magic, but a masterpiece that harmonized opposing forces.

It was a creation that embodied all of Elisha’s power and will.

“…….”

He was honestly impressed.

That technique was called ‘Frost Flame’. It was Elisha’s ultimate magic in the game. And logically, Elisha shouldn’t have been able to use it at this stage of the story.

But now, she was wielding it with apparent ease.

What was the source of her power? He pondered for a moment and then recalled the setting of this world, where magic power could awaken in moments of crisis, fueled by strong emotions and desires.

That meant Elisha was incredibly determined.

But to unleash such power just to spend a day with him… it felt ironic. It was strange that he was the cause of such a fierce battle.

“Haaaaaaaa—!!”

Elisha unleashed her magic with a cry, sending shockwaves through the training grounds as the sphere crashed into the ground.

Rumble—!!

The impact shook the arena, the air tearing with a deafening roar.

“Ugh?”

The heat and chilling aura reached him even outside the arena.

“U-Ugh?!”

Naturally, Eilly and Melina couldn’t avoid the impact. The entire arena was devastated by Elisha’s magic.

“Uwaah?! I-I can withstand it!!”

Eilly managed to endure, planting her sword in the ground and bracing herself against the onslaught.

“Aaaaagh—!!”

But Melina was swept away by the blast, unable to react in time.

“Meow!”

Just then, a desperate meow reached his ears. He turned his head and saw Lates, the white cat, crying out in concern.

“Lates?”

Had Lates been watching the fight as well? Since when? But it didn’t matter. Lates looked as if it was about to jump into the arena.

……….

As Elisha’s magic subsided, silence fell over the training grounds. The aftershocks of the explosion of fire and ice lingered, a testament to the sheer power of her magic.

“Haa, haa…”

Eilly, already exhausted, seemed to be struggling even more after taking the full brunt of Elisha’s magic.

She was breathing heavily, her shoulders rising and falling rapidly.

“Ugh…”

But Melina seemed to be in even worse shape. She lay slumped near the edge of the arena, dazed from the impact, her face pale.

She hadn’t been knocked out of the arena, so she wasn’t disqualified yet, but she was clearly in no condition to continue fighting.

Her previous confidence was gone, replaced by a pathetic state.

“Huu… S-So, how about it? Are you giving up…?”

The situation had reversed in an instant. Elisha had gained the upper hand, but she was also gasping for breath, her magic depleted. She seemed to be struggling just to stay on her feet.

“I can still fight…”

But it was Eilly who recovered first, breaking the heavy silence.

She gripped her sword tightly, steadied her breathing, and assumed a fighting stance. A powerful aura swirled around her.

“Ugh… That hurt. But I won’t lose.”

Melina also recovered, slowly regaining her composure and nocking an arrow to her bow. The air around her began to stir.

“Do you think you can block this, after wasting so much energy?”

Melina’s eyes were unwavering, her hair flowing gracefully in the wind.

“Oh Spirit of Wind, turn my arrow into a weapon of divine punishment!”

With a determined gaze, she aimed at Elisha, concentrating the wind’s power into the arrow, creating a small vortex at its tip.

A powerful energy emanated from her fingertips as she drew the string, making the air vibrate. Her eyes shone with resolve.

Whoosh-

A single, silent shot. The arrow, imbued with the wind’s blessing, flew towards Elisha.

“Pure crystal of cold ice, eternal ice that never melts, protect me…”

Elisha tried to erect an ice wall, but it shattered instantly upon impact with the arrow, weakened by her depleted magic power.

Shatter—!

“Oh?!”

Elisha’s surprise was evident. Although its power had been diminished, Melina’s arrow still pierced Elisha, and she cried out in pain, stumbling backward.

“Ugh…!”

She seemed to be in considerable pain. But not only Elisha, but Eilly and Melina were also exhausted from the fierce battle.

“Tsk… Then I’ll finish this.”

Elisha clicked her tongue and slowly got to her feet. She ignited a flame in her hand, as if trying to squeeze out the last of her magic power.

“Huu—”

Melina also took a deep breath and drew her bowstring.

“I’m ready.”

Eilly assumed a stance, ready to pounce. They were all prepared to see this through to the end, without hesitation.

“This is enough—”

He finally made up his mind and stood up, watching their three-way battle.

“Stop this.”

He jumped into the arena between them.

“Master?!”

“Arnold, why are you…?”

“You’re not supposed to interfere!”

He was there to stop them, of course. It was his fault for letting things get this far.

He had allowed them to fight so fiercely, risking serious injury, out of mere curiosity.

“I don’t want to see you get hurt anymore. I don’t want any of you to be in danger.”

At his words, their expressions softened slightly. Sensing his concern, the tension between them began to dissipate.

“B-But Master… then we can’t decide the winner.”

“That’s right. Or are you going to choose one of us?”

“Then choose me. Choose me.”

They looked at him with pleading eyes.

“Hmm…”

Honestly, he was partly responsible for this situation.

He couldn’t choose just one of them; they were all injured, and he wanted to give them all a chance.

“You all did well. So, let’s say everybody won.”

Eilly, Elisha, and Melina looked at him with bewildered expressions.

“What?!”

They were stunned by his decision, a verdict where there were no losers, only winners.

“What? With everyone?”

“U-… Then I won’t have him all to myself? But I guess… as long as I can spend time with you, it’s fine… in its own way…”

“It’s a bit disappointing, but if that’s what you wish, Master…”

Their hostility towards each other completely disappeared, and the situation was resolved.

“I’m sorry. For offering a reward like that.”

“It’s not your fault, Master.”

“I was the one who decided on the reward…”

“I’m happy just to be able to make memories with you.”

On the other hand, he was a bit worried about what would happen next.

He had to spend a day with each of them, and he already felt exhausted just thinking about it. But he had to accept it.

It was, in a way, a situation brought by his own doing.
