“A breast enlargement potion… What an interesting endeavor, isn’t it?”

A smile spread across Minerva’s face. It was clear that she understood why Ceres had been provoking her from the moment they met, and there wasn’t a trace of displeasure in her expression.

‘Was the original NPC bald, so they removed her breasts? Those bastards…’

This was a world where Erica and Selene were considered flat-chested, and no one questioned it. So how would Ceres, who had no breasts at all, be treated?

Even I, at one point, had temporarily lost my mind and labeled them as flat-chested.

Even now, I couldn’t help but think that Erica and Selene were on the smaller side. It felt like two conflicting values were clashing within me.

‘This isn’t because of the Dark Magic, is it?’

Since I had a spell on me, any slight distortion in my perception felt like it was caused by the Dark Magic. I needed to get a clear explanation from the witch about its effects.

“Is it really possible to make a potion that makes breasts bigger?”

“It’s not theoretically impossible. It’s just that it’s more beneficial to conduct more magic research and make more potions than to create something like that.”

‘Wow, it’s actually possible.’

It was truly a fascinating world, in many ways, if you could actually create a potion that enlarged breasts just by drinking it.

In the game, the development of a hair growth tonic had been successful. So it wasn’t difficult to guess that Ceres’ potion would also be successful.

‘It was successful. It was…’

Yes. It was successful.

“So, are we going to get the holy water now, my child?”

I snapped out of my thoughts. The rest was no longer my concern.

“We have to. Do you know where we can buy it?”

“I do. I went there once to get some.”

“You can just teleport us there. I’ll handle it from there.”

Minerva nodded and lightly tapped the floor with her staff. With the familiar sensation of weightlessness, we were enveloped in a blue light.

When the blue light surrounding us faded, the scenery had completely changed. White buildings with unique designs and streets paved with white bricks.

We were in the Holy Kingdom.

I took the brooch out of my pocket and pinned it to my left chest. Minerva watched me with an intrigued expression.

“My child, that is…”

“Have you seen this before?”

“I haven’t seen it in person, but I’ve heard of it. A brooch symbolizing a precious guest of the Pope, and one that signifies both the Sun and Moon, not just one of them. I see why you were so confident. You’ll definitely be able to obtain Sunlit Holy Water with that brooch.”

Her silver-grey eyes narrowed slightly.

“But my child, the fact that you have that brooch means…”

“Let’s get going. We don’t have time to waste here. We need to finish this quickly and get to the Crystal Scroll.”

I cut her off and walked forward.

It was an obvious attempt to change the subject, but Minerva seemed willing to let it slide. She followed me quietly.

After walking between buildings for a few minutes,

“They’re coming.”

As if they had sensed the mana fluctuations from our teleportation, about ten paladins were galloping towards us on horseback.

They were clad in white armor from head to toe, and they were even riding white horses. The only thing that wasn’t white was the weapons attached to their saddles.

I couldn’t tell their genders. The armor was so thick that their figures weren’t visible at all, and their faces were hidden behind helmets.

The paladins stopped in front of us and raised their maces in unison.

“Halt! Identify yourselves! If you do not answer, you will be considered heretics and dealt with!”

The paladin in the lead shouted at us. Her voice was definitely female.

I silently pointed to the brooch on my left chest.

The paladin, after staring at where I was pointing, froze for a moment, then her eyes widened in shock as if she had been burned. She practically fell off her horse and prostrated herself before me.

The others followed suit, one after another, as they saw my brooch. The clattering of armor as they fell to the ground echoed loudly.

Soon, all twelve paladins were kneeling, their heads bowed.

“We… We greet the honored guest!”

“We greet the honored guest!”

Their voices were incredibly loud. The first paladin, who had spoken so forcefully, was trembling so violently that it was visible even through her heavy armor.

‘Why is she acting like that?’

Was she afraid of being executed for raising her voice to someone wearing this brooch? I thought it was a natural precaution to take against strangers, especially near the Papal Palace.

My doubts were quickly cleared as I remembered her threat to consider us heretics if we didn’t answer.

Even though she didn’t know who I was, she had threatened to treat an honored guest of the Popes as a heretic. To those devout believers, there could be no greater blasphemy.

“Raise your heads. We didn’t come here for—”

“How dare you use honorifics with us, honored guest?! Please, speak to us informally!”

Bang!

The paladin slammed her helmet against the ground and bowed her head again. Her actions startled even me.

I looked at Minerva with a bewildered expression.

Minerva, a smile on her face, leaned towards me and whispered,

“Do as they wish, my child. Sometimes, excessive consideration can be poisonous.”

I nodded, dumbfounded. I hadn’t expected this kind of treatment when I had put on the brooch. I had just thought they might be a little more polite.

“Okay. I’ll speak informally. Raise your heads and look at me. I didn’t come here to receive your prostrations.”

“Yes, honored guest!”

With another booming response, they raised their heads. The white helmets were now covered in dirt.

“I have a request. Is that okay?”

“A request?! You honor us! Please, give us your command!”

“……Alright. I have a command.”

“We will gladly obey! What is your command?!”

“Can you get me some Sunlit Holy Water?”

The paladin answered without a moment’s hesitation,

“Of course! How much do you need?!”

I glanced at Minerva. She looked quite surprised.

“To think I would hear such words in my lifetime. Being with you, child, never ceases to amaze me.”

It was understandable. Even in the game, Sunlit Holy Water was an item where the seller decided how much to sell, not the buyer.

It would be the first time Minerva, who was no exception to that rule, had ever been asked a ‘normal’ question about how much she needed.

“That’s right. How much do you need, Lady Minerva?”

“……You’re asking me, my child?”

“Is there another Minerva here besides you, Lady Minerva?”

Minerva’s eyes widened for a moment as I echoed what she had said at Ceres’ house, then returned to normal. She seemed to have understood my intentions.

“Then, not too much… Just tell them one barrel would be enough.”

“You heard her? One barrel. That should be enough.”

“Yes! We will escort you to a building prepared for honored guests. Could you please wait there while we prepare the holy water?”

“Sure.”

“Thank you for allowing us to serve you!”

The paladin in the lead stood up, mounted her horse with a vigorous response, and the other paladins followed suit. They disappeared in a cloud of dust, and the remaining three approached us.

“We will escort you, honored guest.”

It was a woman’s voice again. We followed them obediently. The paladins stopped in front of a building about four or five stories high. Two of them opened the door for us, bowing respectfully.

Inside was a room decorated with dazzling ornaments. The paladins who had escorted us bowed their heads once more and left, saying they would wait for us here.

I sat down on the sofa.

Minerva, the moment she settled down, looked at me with honey dripping from her eyes and smiled.

“Thank you, my child. I didn’t expect such consideration.”

I felt like I shouldn’t be getting closer to Minerva here, but honestly, I didn’t really care anymore.

Her affection had already reached its limit because of the Crystal Scroll. Adding a barrel of Sunlit Holy Water to the mix wouldn’t make much of a difference.

Besides, getting closer to Minerva was the best way to keep Cecilia in check. Unless I moved to the Holy Kingdom and sought refuge with the Popes.

“You don’t have to thank me. I received help from you as well, Lady Minerva.”

“But this was a deal for the Crystal Scroll, wasn’t it?”

“The deal didn’t include you providing me with items from the Mage Tower.”

Thanks to her, we were able to skip all the intermediate steps and come directly to the Holy Kingdom. It wasn’t a completely one-sided favor if I thought of it as a repayment for that.

“Hehe… I understand. I’ll refrain from mentioning it any further.”

True to her words about excessive consideration being poisonous, Minerva backed down gracefully.

Seeing her mysterious smile, I wondered if this woman was really the same one who had been pestering me to find the Crystal Scroll. I was curious which version of Minerva was her true self.

‘She looks like a wise sage who has transcended life itself right now.’

—Bang!

The door suddenly burst open. As I was about to turn my head to see what was going on, a brilliant golden light flooded the room.

I instinctively shielded my eyes. I could vaguely see Minerva looking slightly surprised through the gaps between my fingers and the blinding light.

The light gradually faded.

I blinked a few times to regain my vision and turned my head, wondering what had just happened.

“It’s been a while, honored guest.”

And my eyes met Floretta’s.

I was lured by an invitation email to the beta test of the sequel to the game I’ve been playing for the past 10 years. To my surprise, all the mods I’ve installed over the years were still there. Everything from enemy enhancement mods to NPC gender swap and appearance retouching mods were intact. Even mods for changing the characters’ outfits were still in place. *Takes inspiration from Sekiro + Soulsborne series.

She pope of the sun, and I guess she can spy on anything under the sun.
I think there was mention of this ability from pope of the moon.

… Or I’m wrong and this *is* power of “love”.
