As expected, understanding Fix was not an easy task.
I somehow managed to open him up and examine his internal structure, but the circuitry was so complex that it was difficult to understand the structure and principle.
Therefore, I used the cheat key called ‘Engineering Mind’ to analyze him.
This skill was overpowered because it allowed me to understand engineering knowledge just by observing the object with my eyes.
However, perhaps because the level was insufficient, even that did not work.
My level 3 ‘Engineering Mind’ was not yet able to understand Fix’s complex CPU.
‘Let’s take it slow.’
So, I decided to put off researching Fix.
First, I planned to collect money through the air conditioner subscription fees and then obtain the ‘Emerald Mana Stone’ mined in the Dwarven Allied Kingdom.
If I developed a primitive computer step by step with that, I might be able to find the answer.
After all, when I opened Fix’s head, his CPU was made of a different material than Earth’s CPUs.
As I expected, it used Emerald Mana Stone.
Then, why was the CPU of this world made of Emerald Mana Stone?
The reason was that, unlike ordinary mana stones, Emerald Mana Stone could be miniaturized to the nano level.
In other words, if an ordinary mana stone was extremely finely divided, it would lose its property of holding mana, whereas an Emerald Mana Stone could hold mana even when it was almost ground into powder.
This meant that miniaturization of equipment was possible.
Because even a very small amount of mana stone could allow mana to flow.
‘And that’s not all.’
Moreover, when Emerald Mana Stone was specially processed, the amount of mana it could hold could be controlled.
In other words, if it was processed to hold up to 50 mana, it could hold exactly 50 mana.
So, what if it was made to hold only 1 mana?
Then, when it contained mana, it would be 1, and when it did not contain mana, it would be 0.
In other words, the binary system could be expressed with the presence or absence of mana.
This way, an Emerald Mana Stone that could switch between 0 and 1 could be used like a ‘transistor.’
And if several of these transistors were gathered to perform a specific operation, that would be a ‘logic circuit.’
The arithmetic logic unit, the basis of the CPU, could be made.
‘Well, it won’t be an easy task.’
The problem was that the CPU contained billions of devices that could switch between 0 and 1. In other words, transistors.
Therefore, to reproduce a modern CPU, the Emerald Mana Stone had to be divided smaller than fine dust and processed to hold only 1 mana.
Only when billions of these were gathered and fixed on a device the size of my fingernail could a modern CPU be born.
I could only marvel at the skill of Samsung, which made such crazy semiconductors.
“It seems like it will be quite a long-term project.”
As such, the grand plan to create a ‘computer’ had to be seen in the long run.
Because what I had considered so far was only the hardware design of the CPU, and I hadn’t even considered the software design of the CPU yet.
For example, various types of registers that helped the CPU’s arithmetic.
Or the cache memory and RAM that would store the commands processed by the CPU, the compiler that would convert the coded language into assembly language, the assembler that would convert the assembly language into machine language consisting of 0s and 1s, and so on.
There were many things to consider in terms of software as well.
“…In conclusion, I need to raise the level further.”
To understand and create such a complex structure, I needed to raise the level of ‘Engineering Mind’ further.
Because the higher the level of Engineering Mind, the more advanced structures I could understand.
“What happens if… the level of my ‘Dexterous Hands’ skill increases?”
But, what would happen if my Dexterous Hands skill level increased further?
I was able to obtain ‘Fix’ the moment my Dexterous Hands skill level became 3.
Then, if my Dexterous Hands skill level became 4, would I be able to obtain another guy like Fix?
Maybe Fix would be upgraded further.
Right now, it was in the form of a robotic arm, but perhaps when it reached level 4, it would evolve into a humanoid robot.
Well, in the end, I wouldn’t know until I saw it.
For now, I would collect money to buy Emerald Mana Stone and continue to upgrade the suit.
Eventually, as I did my work, my Dexterous Hands skill and Engineering Mind level would naturally increase.

“Ugh…”
Wednesday, 3rd period.
Enya was glaring at me with a frustrated face.
It was because she wasn’t chosen as my partner for the practical training class.
“Hehe, commoner. We were randomly selected, but we’re partners, isn’t it somewhat fated?”
And of all people, Isabella was chosen as my partner.
So, Enya had no choice but to glare at me with such a frustrated face.
“Alright- then we will practice the combat sleep method. As announced earlier, if you can make your partner fall asleep within 15 minutes, you pass.”
At that time, the instructor announced the instructions and drew everyone’s attention.
Then, both Enya, who had been looking at me with a resentful expression, and Isabella, who had been smiling at me, focused on the instructor’s words.
The instructor began to explain.
“If you listened well in class, you can succeed without difficulty, but since it’s the first practice, let’s go over the key points one more time. Alright- first is sound blocking. You don’t need to use a complex spell, just turn on the device you were given, and the sound within a 2-meter radius will be blocked.”
Sound blocking.
In other words, blocking out noise to make the partner fall asleep.
The class the instructor was teaching now was ‘how to sleep comfortably during war.’
“After blocking the sound, the next step is image association…”
The next step was image association.
It’s exactly what it sounds like, mentally conjuring up an image.
Mainly static images that could bring peace of mind.
For example, waves slowly rolling onto a pure white sandy beach.
Or following a single leaf flying in the gentle breeze, or looking up at slowly moving fluffy clouds.
Whichever one chose, the goal was to help the partner imagine the most static image possible to lower the partner’s heart rate and breathing frequency.
“And then the next is…”
Next was ‘mana absorption.’
In other words, using mana synthesis to relax tense muscles.
While continuing to talk to help imagine images, the ‘mana absorption device’ was used to remove the mana that had seeped into the muscles.
This would completely relax the body.
“Alright, now I will start the timer. The time limit is 15 minutes. If you can make your partner fall asleep within 15 minutes, you pass. Start!”
The instructor announced the start and pressed the button on the timer.
I looked at Isabella, who was lying on the bed and staring at me.
Would this sleep method work on her?
As if reading my thoughts, Isabella smirked and said.
“You’ve probably figured it out. That won’t work on me.”
“……”
Of course, it wouldn’t.
Isabella couldn’t fall asleep using normal methods.
That was because Isabella controlled ‘negative emotions.’
And she fought by processing them into curses and inflicting mental damage on the opponent.
Therefore, if she couldn’t control these negative emotions, she would be the one to suffer.
She had to live knowing that there was a bomb in her head.
“Hmm. Still, I should try.”
However, I pressed the device to block the sound within a 2-meter radius.
We were instantly isolated from external noise, giving the illusion that only she and I remained in the world.
“I’m good at putting people to sleep.”
I had already put Isabella to sleep before.
When the number of my retries in El Pandor Runterra exceeded 60.
By the time I reached the very end of the game with the Isabella route, I often slept with her.
And every time, Isabella would beg me to help her to sleep.
Thanks to that, I already knew how to put her to sleep.
“Interesting. I’ll look forward to it.”
For some reason, the Isabella lying before me overlapped with the image of the Isabella from back then.
Her face, gazing at me with a sad smile.
Suddenly, her line came to mind.
‘It’s okay. Even if you kill me.’
“…Move over.”
Perhaps because of that, I acted impulsively without realizing it.
I asked her to make room on the bed.
Isabella looked startled and asked with a surprised expression,
“O, over? Are you going to lie down too?”
“……”
In an instant, countless thoughts crossed my mind.
The Isabella from back then and the current Isabella were completely different people, so why did I say that?
The moment I said it, I immediately regretted it.
“Yes. I’ll lie down too.”
But I couldn’t take back the spilled water.
I had to handle it as best as I could.
“L, lie down? Together?”
Isabella’s expression, unusually flustered, betrayed a hint of embarrassment.
It made sense, no one would have willingly shared a bed with her before. It was understandable for her to feel caught off guard.
Moreover, lying down on the same bed with a boy of the same age had a lot of implications.
So, I opened my mouth with a calm expression, as if it were no big deal.
“…Yes. There’s a study that says, primates feel more secure when a trusted member of their species is nearby.”
Of course, it was a lie.
A lie I made up on the spot.
Thankfully, Isabella seemed to take it at face value, as her eyes curved into a mischievous crescent shape.
“Hehe… Is that so? You’re really interesting. Saying that you’ll sleep with a Grand Duchess without batting an eye. If it were any other man, I would have torn him to pieces already.”
“……”
She was probably being serious.
Isabella extremely disliked others trying to touch her.
“But I think you’re okay. Honestly, you’re not bad-looking. And you’re amusing, too.”
Isabella said that and slid over- making room for me.
She patted the spot next to her and grinned playfully as she spoke.
“I’ll look forward to it. Let’s see if you can actually put me to sleep…I’m really curious.”
Isabella’s face was full of playfulness.
Her purple eyes were sparkling, and she looked at me with an interesting look.
-Slide.
Eventually, I took a deep breath and climbed onto the bed.
Now, we were so close that I could hear the sound of her breathing.
If I reached out my hand, I could touch her face.
‘Don’t love me.’
However, memories from previous playthroughs came flooding back again.
The Isabella route, which always ended with her death.
Why were those feelings coming back to me?
Those memories, which I had only experienced through the game, felt as vivid as if I had experienced them in reality. [T/N: let them cook]
“…Commoner?”
At that time, she called me.
The memories of the past scattered in an instant, and her present face filled my vision.
“Do you… have any worries? You look serious.”
It seemed that I couldn’t control my expression.
Was it because I kept overlapping her with the her from previous playthroughs?
I smiled and answered her.
“Yes. I was worried about failing the practical.”
“Pfft. That’s what you’re worried about?”
She laughed quietly, accepting my lame excuse with amusement.
“So, what are you going to do now?”
“…Hmm. I’m thinking.”
I had made the move, but now that I was about to do it, I hesitated.
To properly put Isabella to sleep, physical contact was inevitable.
Unlike in previous playthroughs , where we’d built a solid emotional connection, we were only just beginning to get to know each other. Would she even allow it?
…Wouldn’t I get torn to pieces if I said something wrong?
“Um, there might be some physical contact, is that okay?”
But what was the point of worrying?
I just blurted it out.
I held my breath and waited for Isabella’s reaction.
“…If you do that, can you put me to sleep?”
Fortunately, she seemed to be in a mood to let it slide this time too.
I smiled and answered.
“Maybe.”
“……”
Her eyes narrowed slightly in thought. Then, unexpectedly, her cheeks flushed red.
And then she asked me.
“P, physical contact… to what extent?”
“……”
This was a new feeling.
To think that Isabella would be this embarrassed.
It was refreshing.
Since it was still the beginning of the game, she still had an awkward, innocent side to her.
“Hmm… To the extent of hugging from behind. But there’s no need to think strangely of it. You can think of it as part of a treatment to treat sleep imbalance.”
“…Hmm.”
Part of a treatment.
When I said that, Isabella nodded.
She turned her back to me and spoke,
“I heard about you from Butler Bilson. He said you developed ‘Graham’s North Wind’ after I blew a blast of cold air at you. So… you’re okay. My family is planning to invite you soon, and… I like you. I’ll just imagine there’s a stuffed bear behind me.”
She was trying to sound casual, but I could definitely feel the trembling in her voice.
It was amusing to see how many reasons she tried to justify something as simple as being hugged.
Her reddened ears looked particularly adorable.
“Ahem. Alright, I’ll start now.”
Still, I wasn’t exactly calm either.
Because it was my first time actually hugging her.
-Swoosh
But my movements were smooth.
As if guided by muscle memory, I positioned myself naturally, slipping behind her and wrapping an arm around her waist.
The moment I did, her body jolted with an unexpected reaction.
“Hic!”

[T/N: I have some theories about this chapter but I will let the author cook. Btw there’s an illustrations available for this chapter ]
◇◇◇◆◇◇◇
I’ve got some theories too. I think this’ll fall into the trope of the protagonist not actually being part of a game world but rather a regressor with altered memories; it seems pretty obvious just from these few hints alone. What I’m more curious about is Fix. I feel like Fix has to be some sort of machinery our protagonist built in the future and sent back to the past to help himself, which is why Fix’s internals match what the protagonist already had planned so closely.
