“Pertel!”

In the reception room of Rahel Academy.

As soon as Pertel entered, Artel grabbed her shoulders.

She also examined her condition worriedly, looking her up and down.

“Are you okay? You don’t seem to be injured anywhere from the looks of it. The uniform suits you quite well.”

“Yes. I’m, fine.”

“Is blending in not difficult?”

“Yes. It’s easy. I already, made a friend.”

Of course, if Charlotte had heard this, she would have protested about what on earth that meant, but fortunately Charlotte wasn’t present.

Christine, who was standing nearby, also addressed Pertel.

“You’ve worked hard.”

“It’s nothing. For Lady Christine, I’ll do anything.”

Artel looked around the reception room and firmly locked the door.

Then she began using various magic scrolls she had prepared.

There was a magic scroll containing magic to conceal identities, there was another magic scroll to prevent traces of dark magic from remaining, and so on—

A meeting between three vampire executives inside Rahel Academy was troublesome.

But what could they do, even if it was troublesome?

They had to endure it.

Christine quietly took Pertel’s hand.

Several magic circles were inscribed on Pertel’s body.

“These are a few blessings I can bestow as the Sin of Pride. They should help prevent your identity from being discovered.”

“Thank you.’

As Pertel muttered that, Artel poked her sister’s side.

“Have you completed the list?”

“I’ll do it, as fast, as possible.”

“It’s not about doing it, it should have been completed already!”

“Can’t help it. I’m, intermediate class. Can’t approach, failing class.”

As soon as those words ended, Artel heaved a deep sigh.

Christine’s expression wasn’t very bright either.

“Pertel, why don’t you sit down first?”

“Okay.”

Artel threw a tiny blood bead into the teacup.

The blood that flowed from the shattered blood bead inside the cup filled it like tea.

“I was going to talk about it anyway.”

Christine and Artel had thoroughly inspected the interior of Rahel Academy today.

Not encountering Jekkiel was a great disappointment, and outside of the plan, but they were still able to successfully achieve the plan of examining the interior of the academy.

Why?

Because Principal Violet had shown them everything, as if to flaunt it.

‘There are probably more humans who don’t wish for coexistence between the demon realm and human world.’

That was indeed the case.

Just as most demon realm inhabitants don’t desire coexistence, most humans don’t desire it either.

While touring Rahel Academy’s interior and observing the students, Christine was able to feel this even more vividly.

Although it’s said that mages fundamentally explore the flow of mana and pursue the truth of the world, if they truly focused only on those reasons, it would be sufficient to walk the path of self-exploration.

Why bother establishing an academy and why bother learning combat magic?

It was because there’s a fated enemy called demons.

‘Therefore, there must be a reason why Adrian is in charge of the failing grade students.’

Jekkiel’s thoughts are never shallow.

He must be holding onto them because he discovered some kind of hope from those students.

And therefore-

“Pertel, is there no way for you to go to the failing class?”

Pertel’s hand, which was about to lift the teacup, stopped abruptly.

After falling into thought for a moment, she soon shook her head.

“I did, my best. But still, intermediate.”

Artel, who had been listening, let out a deep sigh.

Her original purpose was to assassinate Jekkiel.

In fact, it didn’t matter much what identity she was hiding under as long as that purpose was maintained.

But now the purpose had changed.

To achieve the goal of assisting Jekkiel while periodically reporting to Christine, she had to enter the failing class.

Infiltrating any other class would just mean being mixed in like an impurity in this academy.

What if her identity was accidentally discovered while existing as an impurity?

The academy would strengthen its efforts to root out demons.

Then it would end up causing unnecessary trouble for Jekiel as well.

“There are various regulations in this academy, Pertel.”

“Yes. I mean, probably.”

“Please try to utilize the regulations well. If you can move to the failing grade class, I sincerely ask that you do so.”

Go to the failing class.

Go to the failing class.

Pertel nodded her head vigorously.

◇◇◇◆◇◇◇

When Pertel returned to the intermediate class lecture hall, she felt that the interior was somehow more boisterous than usual.

“They’re here! They’re here!”

As soon as someone shouted that, the front door of the lecture hall opened.

And then several people entered, but despite all wearing the same intermediate class badges, they were all unfamiliar faces.

“Amazing. They’ve already done field training.”

“I heard they explored a dungeon? I’m so envious…”

The students whispered like that.

And those individuals who entered confidently, receiving the gazes of the intermediate class students with their whole bodies, looked around and thoroughly enjoyed the attention directed at them.

“It feels nice and welcoming to return to the academy.”

“The skeletons were quite strong, weren’t they? Though not as strong as us.”

“Oh my goodness.”

So does that mean they even defeated skeletons during this dungeon visit?”

Other students began to whisper.

‘Skeletons, are extremely, weak.’

Pertel thought inwardly that she could turn them to bone dust without even blinking an eye.

Is that amazing?

Why?

As she was thinking that, Scarlet poked Pertel’s side.

“Tia. This must be your first time seeing them?”

“Yes.”

“They’re the most promising students among the intermediate grade! I’ll tell you. From the left, that’s Tyr and the handsome one to his right is—”

She continued reciting names after that, but Pertel wasn’t really listening.

Finding a way to move to the failing class.

That was the highest priority task given to her at the moment, so all her attention was focused on that.

The boy who seemed the most arrogant, whose name was apparently Tyr, opened his mouth.

“By the way, I heard there was some friction between us and the failing class?”

“That’s right. They say they arrogantly tried to climb up.”

“That’s great. I was itching for some action. It’s more fun beating up fellow mages than skeletons.”

There’s the advanced class above the intermediate class, and the highest class too.

Isn’t that not a line that should come out of your mouth?

Pertel swallowed those thoughts inwardly.

In any case, the authority of Tyr’s group seemed absolute in this class.

Other students gathered in small groups, asking various questions and their eyes sparkling.

“Tyr, what’s it like to actually face a skeleton?”

“It’s easy. They seem to keep reviving, but if you destroy the core, the bones never reattach.”

“Wow~ You’re really amazing as expected~”

“It’s nothing really.”

Tyr lifted his chin high while shrugging his shoulders.

The arrogant attitude was the same for those around him.

“How much should we beat up the failing class kids?”

“We should beat them until they faint. I heard the rules this time allow us to beat them almost to death?”

“Ah, how can I wait for a whole week~ I want to beat them up right now so badly.”

“Hey. Be patient a little. If you hit them outside of the magic competition, you’ll be demoted to the failing class.”

“Ugh, I’ll hate that more than being expelled. Seriously.”

Puhahaha!

Tyr’s group and the intermediate class students chattered noisily while bursting into hearty laughter.

Around that time, Pertel’s eyes also began to sparkle.

She poked Scarlet’s shoulder with her finger.

“Ouch! Tia! Why are your nails so sharp?”

“Scarlet. Scarlet. Scarlet.”

“Y-yes?”

“If you hit outside magic competition, go to failing class?”

After making an expression as if wondering why she was asking such a thing, Scarlet soon answered with a serious face.

“You don’t know, Tia? Remember this. Hitting another mage with a preemptive attack outside of official events like magic competitions? It’s definitely disciplinary action. You’ll be demoted to the failing class for sure!”

“Really?”

Pertel’s eyes widened.

Scarlet thought Pertel was scared because of her words.

She patted Pertel’s shoulder.

“Yes. Really. Of course, this doesn’t apply to sweet and kind kids like you~”

“Failing class! Failing class! Failing class!”

Pertel’s eyes began to sparkle even more.

Tyr’s group continued to unfold their adventure stories.

“Do you think we only caught skeletons? We also caught succubi. There were a few succubus spirits floating around.”

“Wow! Really?”

“I’m telling you. At this rate, it looks like we’ll easily advance to the upper class. Well, that’s only natural.”

Just as the noses of Tyr and his group were getting higher and higher.

There was someone who threw cold water on them.

“Lies.”

“Hm?”

The heads of all the students, including Tyr, turned towards Pertel at once.

All the attention was focused on her, but she didn’t care at all.

Tyr pushed through the crowd, stood in front of Pertel, and asked while staring at her.

“Who are you?”

“You, lied.”

“About what?”

“Skeletons, succubi, can’t live in same place. No, intelligence?”

“……?”

Tyr exchanged glances with his group members with an expression that said ‘Is this girl crazy?’.

The expressions of his group members weren’t much different.

In terms of height difference, Tyr was much taller.

He placed his hand on Pertel’s head.

“Hey. Are you new here?”

“Yes.”

“You don’t seem to know yet. We’re a bit strong.”

“How much.”

“Didn’t you hear? We can take down skeletons in one hit.”

Pertel began to seriously ponder.

‘If they’re on par with skeletons… they might really die if I use too much force.’

‘I need to remove as much strength as possible. As much as possible.’

Tyr stared intently at Pertel’s badge.

“Tia. Looks like your name is Tia?”

“Yes.”

Swish—!

He firmly grabbed one of Pertel’s twin tails.

As if grabbing a handle. And then he lifted it up.

“But why have you been staring so arrogantly since earlier? So rude.”

“If fight, failing class.”

“That’s right. That’s right. You know well? So endure this kind of treatment a bit. You idiot.”

Tyr grabbed the other side of her twin tails with his other hand. And then he kept pulling them up as if lifting a plastic bag.

Because it looked funny to see the huge Tyr playing with the tiny Pertel like a toy, suppressed laughter erupted from the surroundings.

“If don’t endure, failing class.”

“Yes, yes. Exactly. So endure it a bit.”

Kwaaaang—!

A simple straight punch.

With a thunderous sound, the eyes of the intermediate class students widened as if they would pop out of their faces.

Pertel with her fist extended, and Tyr embedded in the lecture hall wall far away as if molding his body shape.

It wasn’t difficult for everyone to understand the situation.

“Wh-what?”

“Wha-, wha-, what! She hit him! The transfer student knocked out Tyr!”

The intermediate class lecture hall instantly became chaotic.

And in the midst of that pandemonium-

“Failing class! Failing class! Failing class!”

Pertel muttered joyfully.

I think the only flaw in this story is that it was obviously written with a serious overtone so I don’t get why the author keeps interjecting such terrible “comedic” moments, I mean seriously how is this Pertel girl a assistant to a high level vampire when she acts like a mental retard, almost all her scenes.😮‍💨
