Let's Go

◇◇◇◆◇◇◇

Jeong Yoo-shin ran through the dark alley.

A lukewarm wind, the kind you’d find somewhere between summer and fall, swept through his hair.

He stepped on filth scattered on the ground.

It splattered on his pants and shirt, but he didn’t care.

The alley walls were covered in graffiti and vomit of unknown origin.

The further he ran, the more certain he became. He was heading toward the outskirts of the Eastern District.

“Stop right there!!!”

“Freeze!!!”

All sorts of curses and shouts came from behind him.

He was called a son of a bitch, then a retard, then a parentless orphan, and finally a madman.

They were varied and creative.

No matter how quiet the outskirts were, two hundred men stampeding through would inevitably make a racket.

They had even thoughtfully brought torches with them.

Moreover, Saul must have used his head because his subordinates immediately fanned out into the surrounding alleys as they gave chase.

Shouts and curses echoed through every alley.

“You fucking rapist!!!”

A curse came out of nowhere.

Jeong Yoo-shin stopped dead in his tracks.

The men also came to an abrupt halt.

Jeong Yoo-shin turned and glared at Saul’s subordinates.

Goblins, kobolds, orcs, elves, humans, gnomes— various races stood there.

“Isn’t ‘rapist’ a bit much? I’m…”

The subordinates raised their weapons and charged at him.

“Kill him!!!”

“There’s a 100 gold coin bounty on that bastard’s head!!!”

Dozens of men squeezed through the alley and rushed toward Jeong Yoo-shin. It was like a wave.

“You bastards.”

Jeong Yoo-shin got into a stance.

A narrow alley.

An overwhelming number of enemies.

He had a good weapon for a time like this.

[Sacred Weapon]

A Maul.

A massive hammer woven from light.

It was closer to a tool than a weapon.

Jeong Yoo-shin raised the giant hammer high, but he didn’t stop there.

[Multi-Casting]

[Sacred Weapon]

Half-Ogre Gauntlets.

A golden aura containing the power of a half-ogre shimmered on Jeong Yoo-shin’s hands.

Overwhelming strength was added to a massive weapon.

The men running at the front came to a sudden stop.

“B-Back away!!!”

“We can’t!!! We’re blocked!!!”

But it was too late.

The men pushing from behind and the ones unable to advance forward got tangled up, creating a bottleneck in the narrow alley.

Jeong Yoo-shin raised the hammer that was taller than himself and brought it down.

Whoooooooosh!!!!!!

The golden hammer tore through the air and landed among the men.

Kra-boooooom!!!!!!

The ground exploded. Stone fragments, flesh, blood, and bones scattered into the air like fireworks.

Dust billowed up before being pushed down by the lukewarm wind.

And then a horrific sight was revealed.

The faces of the people standing at the back turned deathly pale.

The alley floor was gouged out to the depth of a grown man’s height.

Flesh, guts, bone fragments, and blood were plastered all over the alley walls, which now had spiderweb-like cracks.

With a single swing of the hammer, ten men had been instantly torn to pieces and were obliterated.

“…”

Jeong Yoo-shin saw an eyeball stuck to the alley wall, plucked it off, and held it out.

“It’s an eyeball candy.”

The terrified men backed away.

“Th-This is—”

“Crazy!!! He’s a monster!!!”

Just as Jeong Yoo-shin was about to summon another Sacred Weapon.

Kra-booom!!!

The alley wall right next to Jeong Yoo-shin exploded, and the bald man burst through.

[Magic Seal]

He formed a bizarre hand sign with one hand and swung his sword with the other.

Jeong Yoo-shin stepped back. A rather sharp sword aura. He couldn’t underestimate it.

The moment he prepared for the next attack.

Jeong Yoo-shin’s body stiffened.

He felt it clearly.

The mana flowing through his body wasn’t responding to the Sacred Weapon imprint.

‘Just as I thought.’

The old snake had prepared his countermeasures thoroughly.

Jeong Yoo-shin stepped back and smiled.

“You think you can stop me with just that?”

“…”

The bald man stood silently.

Jeong Yoo-shin put his hand in his back pocket.

“I’ll show you. My magic tool.”

The bald man flinched and stepped back.

The other subordinates tensed up and got into their stances.

Jeong Yoo-shin carefully watched the bald man’s expression as he retreated.

A troubled look.

‘Confirmed.’

He could seal mana, but not magic tools.

A plan was coming together in his head.

Jeong Yoo-shin’s eyes widened as he turned his head and glared at one side of the alley.

“Hut!!! Saul?!”

“What?!”

The men quickly turned their heads. There was no one in the alley.

They realized it immediately.

They’d been tricked again.

Jeong Yoo-shin quickly ran down the alley.

The enraged men, their eyes bloodshot, ran after him.

“Get him!!!!!”

“You fucking son of a bitch!!!”

“His magic is sealed!!! Get him and beat him to a pulp!!!”

After running for a while, he turned into a side alley.

The men poured in after him.

The first goblin to enter the alley stood there with a dazed expression while holding an axe.

“Huh?!”

The barbarian he thought would be running away was standing right in front of him, grinning.

Jeong Yoo-shin kicked the dazed goblin in the stomach.

Poooow!!!

As his work boot dug into the goblin’s bulging belly, a sound like that of a bursting drum was heard.

The goblin, its insides torn to shreds, vomited blood and flew through the air before crashing into the alley wall.

He snatched the hand axe flying through the air and swung it at the next guy who appeared.

Crrruuunch!!!

The axe broke the man’s ribs and partially severed his internal organs.

“Kugh!!!”

The man staggered.

He swung the axe again, shattering the man’s collarbone and ribs, and plunged it down into his heart before letting go and kicking him.

Crash!!!

The man’s corpse flew backward, collided with several subordinates emerging from the alley, and rolled on the ground.

There was no time to rest.

Jeong Yoo-shin quickly picked up an arming sword from the ground and swung it.

As the sharp sword flashed, the heads of three men flew into the air.

Fwoooosh!!!

Blood erupted like a fountain from the severed necks.

As the headless subordinates fell, other men filled the space.

Jeong Yoo-shin held his ground and fought like a madman.

He would slit throats with a dagger, then beat others to a pulp with his fists and feet.

He severed necks with an arming sword.

He smashed heads with a mace and a military pick.

He split heads in half with an axe.

Saul’s subordinates swarmed into the alley, but they were just ground up like tomatoes in a blender, their bones and flesh butchered and shredded.

The alley, once filled with screams and groans, soon fell silent.

No more subordinates came forward. They just stood at a distance, watching.

Jeong Yoo-shin looked around, spotted a longsword on the ground, and picked it up.

A decent weight.

It wasn’t caked with too much blood and fat, so its edge was still sharp.

Just then…

A middle-aged man decked out in full plate armor walked out from among the subordinates.

“You madman, I’ll deal with you. Everyone, get out of the way!!!”

The man lowered his visor, charged at Jeong Yoo-shin, and swung his longsword.

Judging by the way he charged straight in while trusting his armor’s defense and weight, he had the air of a veteran.

A downward slash.

The sharp edge of the longsword glinted in the torchlight.

Swiiisssh!!!

Jeong Yoo-shin grabbed the blade of his longsword in a half-swording stance and shot forward.

Klaaaang!!!

He raised his longsword to block the downward slash and immediately brought his crossguard down to disarm his opponent.

Clang!!!

The longsword fell to the ground.

The disarmed man, flustered, stepped back and threw a punch, but it was no use.

Jeong Yoo-shin thrust the pommel of his longsword forward and smashed the man in the face.

Thwack!!!

The mace-like pommel dented the helmet and shattered the opponent’s nose and teeth.

“Kraaaaaah!!!”

The man screamed and flailed his hands.

Jeong Yoo-shin, still in his half-swording stance, aimed the tip of his sword and thrust.

The target was the gap in the armor by the neck.

Puk!!!

“Gack!!!”

The man clutched his neck and collapsed.

Jeong Yoo-shin looked down at the man crawling on the ground, then raised his boot and stomped on his neck.

Crrruuunch!!!

The steel-plated boot shattered the man’s cervical vertebrae.

At that moment…

*Swiiisssshhh!!!*

The sound of something cutting through the air. Jeong Yoo-shin’s eyes widened.

He instinctively swung his sword to parry the arrow.

Twaaaang!!!

The arrow hit the sword and was deflected. The blade vibrated violently. His hand tingled.

An arrow with that much force.

This was no ordinary guy.

On top of that, the entire arrow was painted black, making it impossible to see properly.

But he knew from which direction it came from.

He turned his head and looked to where the arrow had come from.

On top of a distant wall, a rat beast-person with glowing green eyes was nocking another arrow.

Jeong Yoo-shin lowered his longsword diagonally.

Swiiisssshhh!!!

Another black arrow flew toward him.

Jeong Yoo-shin swung his longsword and parried it.

Twaaaang!!!!!!

The longsword broke.

“Tch.”

Jeong Yoo-shin clicked his tongue and threw the hilt-only longsword to the ground.

“Now!!!”

A man with a spear charged and thrust at him.

The target was his abdomen.

Jeong Yoo-shin slightly twisted his body to dodge, then he grabbed the spear and pulled.

The opponent was pulled forward, stumbling.

Thwack!!!

An elbow blow struck the man’s throat, and he let go of the spear while gagging.

Without stopping, Jeong Yoo-shin immediately threw a right hook.

The fist cut through the air and shattered the man’s cheekbone.

Crrraack!!!

The man’s eyes rolled back, and he collapsed limply to the side.

Jeong Yoo-shin grabbed the spear, charged, and thrust.

In the narrow alley, the men were skewered like kebabs as they struggled.

“Kyaaaaaaah!!!”

“Get him!!! Go around and hit him!!!”

An orc who hadn’t been speared charged at Jeong Yoo-shin with a mace.

Jeong Yoo-shin dodged the incoming mace, grabbed the orc’s head, and smashed it against the alley wall.

Smash!!!

Holding the spear in one hand and the orc’s head in the other, he slowly advanced down the alley while grinding the orc’s head against the wall.

The men skewered on the spear were pushed back, wailing.

The orc whose face was being ground against the alley wall only twitched.

The shadows of Jeong Yoo-shin and the men cast by the torches flickered on the walls.

Saul’s subordinates were terrified.

Gleaming eyes.

A beast-like skill that could slaughter any number of people in an instant.

Whatever weapon he got his hands on, he used it with divine skill to destroy his opponents.

Anything he held became a deadly weapon.

Even a wooden club wrapped in barbed wire.

He showed signs of being trained by a prestigious school, but his every action was like that of a beast, without a shred of reason.

At that moment…

Another arrow cut through the air.

Jeong Yoo-shin let go of the spear and the man’s head and ducked.

Thwump!!!

The black arrow hit a subordinate’s shoulder.

The man’s face immediately turned black, and he collapsed while vomiting blood.

It all happened in just two seconds.

Jeong Yoo-shin’s expression hardened.

‘As I thought.’

The arrow was poisoned.

He had the Venom Protection imprint, but it required mana. If he got hit even once, Death Reprieve would activate immediately.

“Tch.”

Jeong Yoo-shin clicked his tongue once, turned, and ran down the alley.

“What are you doing!? Get him!!!”

The men who looked like leaders barked orders, and the subordinates had no choice but to start chasing Jeong Yoo-shin again.

He would stop and slaughter the ones who followed before running away again.

It was repeated so many times that it was getting tiresome.

He had no idea how many he had killed.

His entire body was already soaked in blood.

He jumped over a wall into someone’s yard, grabbed some clothes hanging on a clothesline, and wiped off the blood.

He threw on a clean robe from the clothesline and sat down under a bridge.

Next to him, a beggar with one leg missing stared blankly at him.

“H-Hey. This is my spot.”

“Let’s share.”

The beggar grumbled something, but Jeong Yoo-shin ignored him and organized his plan in his head.

Fighting like this would take all day.

He had a rough plan ever since he saw the black magic scroll at Vivian’s shop.

He had been running around to confirm Saul’s countermeasures.

He had confirmed the existence of the bald guy who sealed magic.

As well as the rat beast-person who shot poison arrows from a distance.

It seemed like their plan was to seal his magic and kill him instantly so his Revenger imprint couldn’t even activate. A stray arrow in the middle of a chaotic battle was the most fatal.

But there was something Saul had misunderstood.

The Revenger imprint was linked with the Death Reprieve imprint.

The so-called Imprint Synergy.

Even after taking a fatal blow, he could postpone death and keep moving. In addition, the effect of the Revenger imprint would allow him to revive by inflicting damage.

But he didn’t want to show another one of his cards to these bastards just yet.

They were cunning, just as he had worried.

As soon as they found out what his imprints were, didn’t they immediately come up with a way to counter them?

He was glad that he hadn’t gone to the gambling den.

Jeong Yoo-shin finished organizing his thoughts and stood up.

Lure out Saul and the other two, take them down, and then kill the rest.

‘Good.’

Jeong Yoo-shin dodged the shouting men searching the alleys and returned to his original spot.

Right in front of the tavern where everthing had started.

Creeak.

The inside of the tavern was the same as before.

He walked to the counter, sat down, took out a bottle of alcohol, and poured it into a glass.

He was sipping it for a while when the tavern door burst open.

“…”

Thud. Thud.

As footsteps approached, Jeong Yoo-shin turned.

It was Saul, the bald man from before, and the rat beast-person holding two saw-toothed daggers.

Jeong Yoo-shin raised his glass.

“Saul, thanks for the tour of the neighborhood. Care for a drink?”

Saul’s face flushed red, then returned to normal.

“Hah.”

Saul let out a sigh and sat across from Jeong Yoo-shin.

Jeong Yoo-shin tilted the bottle and filled the glass in front of Saul.

The latter looked down at the glass, then looked up.

“Did you put something in this?”

“Don’t drink it if you’re scared.”

Saul shook his head.

“Skar, you’re completely insane.”

“What’s so new about that?”

“Why are you so calm even though your magic is sealed? What the hell are you thinking? You ran so hard, so why did you come back here? What’s your plan?!!!”

Jeong Yoo-shin stared at Saul’s face for a while, then smiled faintly.

“Why? Are you going crazy? Are you dying to know? You don’t know what I’m going to do, do you?”

“…”

A vein popped in Saul’s eye.

“Then I guess I’ll have to show you.”

Jeong Yoo-shin smiled and pulled something out of his back pocket.

“Let’s go.”

Saul shot up from his seat in alarm.

“Hut?!”

Saul confirmed the object in Jeong Yoo-shin’s hand and stared at it with a blank expression.

“L-Leopard-print panties?”

“Ah.”

Jeong Yoo-shin scratched his head and put Karin’s leopard-print panties back.

“My bad.”

“…”

A vein bulged on Saul’s forehead.

“You son of a bitch!!!! You’re toying with me. You fucking bastard!!! How far are you going to mock me!?”

Jeong Yoo-shin took out the scroll sealed with a black sigil.

“Calm down. For real this time, let’s go.”

“Go where?!!! Are you fucking crazy?!!!”

Saul shrieked.

The bald man and the rat beast-person, sensing something was wrong, immediately charged.

Jeong Yoo-shin leisurely tore the scroll.

“To the room of truth.”

The inside of the tavern was filled with light.

[Translator Notes]

T/N – Lol. What a stereotypical 3rd rate villain. Why did he go into the tavern to confront a man who could crush his neck with one hand in the first place? He even distanced himself from his two guards just to sit down and talk with the MC. As if the latter hadn’t been killing the former’s men all night long…

Also, I kinda like the MC’s thought process in this chapter. He’s actually quite intelligent and shows it from time to time. One example is in that carriage while posing as Oswald’s subordinate when he was smoking a paralyzing weed rolled up into a cigarette in an enclosed space. The MC just doesn’t use his brain much since his imprints and fighting skills are enough most of the time. Or he gets blindsided due to lack of information.

If you find any mistakes, feel free to point them out in the comments.

It was a brutal combat, he has really found his way in fighting. Way different from when he first started, yeah Skar can be smart but he gives in to being a brute way too much sometimes haha.
