In the void of unknown origin…
Jeong Yoo-shin’s party faced off against the tentacle-like monster.
Was its name Sweeper? It didn’t matter. He had to kill it anyway.
A few members of the Night of Death clan remained, but they were too terrified to be of any help.
Clang.
Delia stepped forward. She didn’t flinch, even in the face of the strange monster.
“Come on!!!”
Delia’s booming battle cry. The dozens of eyes on the tentacle monster all narrowed.
Several bundles of tentacles whipped out nervously.
Delia raised her shield.
Thump! Thump! Thump!
The shield dented here and there, but Delia stood firm while blocking all the tentacles.
Karin seized the opportunity and aimed her loaded crossbow.
Twang!!!
The bolt flew towards one of the Sweeper’s eyes.
Thud!!!
The bolt pierced one of the Sweeper’s eyes, and it went berserk.
“Skreeeeeeek!!!”
Dozens of tentacles convulsed and writhed.
An opportunity.
Jeong Yoo-shin also charged and swung his sword.
From top to bottom.
Slice.
The sharp blade easily severed a tentacle.
Splat!!!
Black blood spurted from the severed tentacle, soaking the ground.
“Kikikik!!!”
Jeong Yoo-shin’s party worked together, deflecting the tentacles and launching a barrage of attacks.
Delia blocked the monster’s attacks.
Jeong Yoo-shin and Karin attacked from the sides.
Barion supported the party with divine magic.
A solid formation, honed through several party plays. The tentacle monster, unable to find an opening, shrieked and flailed.
A small smile appeared on Jeong Yoo-shin’s lips.
‘At this rate…’
It was possible.
He could win. He could survive, take care of his party members, and get out.
Hope bloomed in his heart.
“H-Hey!!! The Sweeper’s weakness is its forehead!!!”
One of the Night of Death clan members shouted. Had he also seen a glimmer of hope?
Jeong Yoo-shin, who had been advancing smoothly, froze.
Wait a minute.
Something was wrong.
‘This is too easy.’
He sensed something was amiss.
Just as Delia lowered her shield and was about to swing her mace…
The tentacle monster’s eyes narrowed. As if it had been waiting for this moment.
‘A trap.’
He realized it immediately.
“Delia!!! Be careful!!!”
Jeong Yoo-shin shouted to Delia, who had fallen to the side.
“What…?”
[Lankrium Shikrel.]
The Sweeper cast an unknown spell.
The party members’ bodies suddenly stiffened.
Caught in a strange binding spell, they were bewildered and didn’t know what to do.
His heart sank.
“E-Eek!!!”
A tentacle, as fast as a flash of light, flew towards the struggling Delia and struck her.
Thump!!!
“Gah!!!”
Delia flew through the air. Her plate armor was dented with a single blow. It was an overwhelming force, completely different from before.
Crash!!!
Delia, who was sent flying, rolled across the ground. Her helmet was knocked off, and her blood-soaked blonde hair scattered on the floor.
Delia stumbled, trying to get up, but then she vomited blood and collapsed again.
The unknown binding spell finally wore off.
Karin immediately aimed her crossbow and fired a bolt.
Twang!!!
The tentacle monster casually deflected the bolt with a tentacle.
Karin gritted her teeth, drew her daggers, and charged.
“Haaaaah!!!”
The unique dagger technique of the Red Wolf Tribe shone.
Swish!!!
A thin line was drawn in the air, and several tentacles were severed.
The Sweeper immediately bundled dozens of tentacles together and swung them at Karin.
Thump! Thump! Thump!
Karin moved nimbly, dodging all the thick tentacles.
The flesh-covered ground exploded.
Karin, moving quickly, slipped on Diego’s entrails.
“Oh!!!”
Karin stumbled. It was a momentary mistake, but the price was fatal.
The Sweeper, not missing the opportunity, sharpened its tentacles and thrust them at Karin.
Swish!!!
“Karin!!!”
There was no time to think. Jeong Yoo-shin drew his single-edged sword and swung.
Just before the sharp tentacle pierced Karin’s forehead…
Jeong Yoo-shin stood in front of her.
Crack!!!
The tentacle tore through Jeong Yoo-shin’s flesh, shattered his neck bone, and embedded itself deep within.
[Revenger]
Imprint activated.
Blue flames blazed in his eyes.
Jeong Yoo-shin reached up and grabbed the tentacle embedded in his neck.
Another tentacle struck Karin.
Thump!!!
“Agh!!!”
Karin flew through the air and crashed onto the ground.
“Gurgle… Karin!!!”
He wanted to run to Karin and check on her, but he couldn’t move.
He could barely stop the tentacle from burrowing deeper into his neck.
Thump!!!
Barion charged and swung their warhammer.
The tentacle pulled out of Jeong Yoo-shin’s neck and immediately targeted Barion.
Thump!!!
Thump!!!
Barion swung their warhammer with all their might, but it was no use. They were struck by the rapidly approaching tentacles, crumpled, and thrown to the ground.
The tentacles targeted Marie.
At that moment…
Barion threw themselves in front of Marie with all their might.
Thump!!!
Barion’s torso shattered and scattered on the ground.
Marie knelt while staring at the carnage with vacant eyes.
“I… I…”
If only she hadn’t been greedy…
If only she hadn’t missed Karl so much…
If only she hadn’t been deceived and done something so foolish…
This wouldn’t have happened.
Intense regret tore her heart apart.
“Ah… Ah.”
Before her, the black-haired man was swinging his sword frantically.
Even with blood gushing from his neck, he was fighting alone, precariously.
“I-I’m sorry.”
Marie muttered as tears streamed down her face.
Jeong Yoo-shin, who was swinging his sword, didn’t hear her.
Wham!!!
A tentacle struck his head, and his helmet flew off. His vision went black for a moment, and he lost his balance.
Jeong Yoo-shin stumbled backward.
He barely regained his senses and looked up to see the egg monster’s eyes narrowed.
‘Shit.’
This bastard was smiling. A look of pure, unadulterated joy.
It wasn’t even looking at the others who had fallen. It was only targeting him.
As if a child was playing with a dragonfly.
Dozens of tentacles flew towards Jeong Yoo-shin.
He couldn’t dodge them all.
He had to give up some flesh.
Wham!!!
His armor dented and caved in.
Jeong Yoo-shin gritted his teeth and endured.
He unleashed all the swordsmanship he had learned.
He severed dozens of tentacles, but countless more grew from the egg. A seemingly endless battle.
Yet, he didn’t retreat an inch, swinging his sword relentlessly.
Thump!!!
A tentacle struck his shoulder. His shoulder armor flew off.
Wham!!!
His kneecap shattered. It didn’t matter. He could still swing his sword.
Wham!!!
His left arm bone shattered. It didn’t matter. He still had his right hand.
Jeong Yoo-shin, like a demon, fought against the storm of tentacles.
How much time had passed?
The Sweeper suddenly stopped its attack and laughed. The tentacles also shook grotesquely in time with the laughter.
“Kikikikik! Impressive. Human.”
A single tentacle pointed at Jeong Yoo-shin.
“Courageous. Sight. Good to see. I will spare. You. One. Condition.”
“…”
“You. Party members. All. Kill. And. Bow before me. Then. I will let you. Go.”
Jeong Yoo-shin’s face twisted in disgust.
Bad taste.
It was urging him to abandon his humanity from a position of superiority.
How far was it going to mock him?
He spat out the blood that had risen in his throat.
“Gah!!! Ptoo!!!”
Blood stained the ground.
“I refuse.”
Jeong Yoo-shin gathered his mana. A final gamble.
[Sacred Weapon]
Property imbuement.
Gale Sword.
Jeong Yoo-shin’s figure disappeared in a flash.
Slice.
The golden single-edged sword sliced through the Sweeper’s body.
“Skreeeeeeek!!!”
The Sweeper was bewildered. It wasn’t over yet.
Once more. [Sacred Weapon]
Half-Ogre Gauntlets.
Boom!!!!!
The Sweeper’s body swayed and was pushed to the side.
And finally…
[Sacred Weapon]
Gale Sword.
His target was the center of its head.
Just as the golden sword was about to pierce the Sweeper’s forehead…
Thwack!!!
His right wrist was caught by a tentacle. Jeong Yoo-shin’s arm trembled, unable to advance any further.
“H-How… dare you!!! My grace. Ignored?!”
Several tentacles gathered and formed a drill.
“Insignificant being. Die!!!”
Crack!!!
The drill tentacle pierced through the mithril-infused plate and tore through Jeong Yoo-shin’s heart.
“Gah!!!”
His strength drained away.
The tentacle lifted Jeong Yoo-shin’s body, shook it a few times, and then threw him to the ground.
Crash!
Jeong Yoo-shin, his heart pierced, rolled across the ground and crashed into a corner.
Everything around him slowed down.
“Ah.”
His life flashed before his eyes.
This couldn’t be happening.
It was an unwinnable fight from the start.
All his efforts to survive had been in vain.
The stars of the cosmos reflected in Jeong Yoo-shin’s dying eyes.
Death.
Was he going to die like this?
Was he going to give up, his spirit broken by an insurmountable wall?
A pawn on a chessboard, a slave on a dice board, whose death was insignificant.
A toy, whose name would be forgotten, destined to die a lonely death.
Was he going to succumb to the malice of the labyrinth and disappear?
“Sh… shit.”
Jeong Yoo-shin trembled and reached for his sword.
A final act of defiance, to die with a sword in his hand.
Just as the final curtain was about to fall…
A small streak of light shot through the vast expanse of space and pierced Jeong Yoo-shin’s heart.
Ping!!!
An unknown, otherworldly power connected his Revenger and Death Reprieve imprints.
Ding.
A bell chimed in his head.
Imprint Synergy activated.
[Death Reprieve]
[Revenger]
Jeong Yoo-shin’s dying eyes blazed to life again.
A power from an outer world.
Was it the power of another outer god?
Were they watching from above while enjoying the show?
There was a limit to mockery, but these bastards seemed to have no bottom lines.
It didn’t matter. He would show them.
The sword of a mortal.
He stood up, his death postponed, and gripped his sword once more.
He tore off his shattered armor and walked slowly.
The monster’s eyes widened. It was so surprised that even its tentacles were trembling.
“Kikikik!!! H-How?!”
“Spit! You who walk among the stars, witness this.”
In a corner of another world, in a cage made of flesh…
The eyes of a man standing on the brink of life and death blazed.
“That there is a star on earth that will not be extinguished!”
The testicle monster shrieked and swung its tentacles.
“Th-This!!! Is impossible!!!”
Dozens of tentacles, like a storm, rushed towards Jeong Yoo-shin.
He held his longsword in one hand and a dagger of light in the other. He stepped forward, moving like the wind.
Thump! Thump! Thump! Thump!
He dodged dozens of tentacles with a god-like footwork and reached the Sweeper.
He followed the trail of stars his master had taught him and swung his sword.
He danced while letting the gushing blood flow past him.
“Skreeeeeeek!!! Stop. Stop!!!”
Jeong Yoo-shin, who had been dancing to the monster’s screams, suddenly came to his senses.
‘I should stop this.’
He started to worry about his party members.
He would end it here.
Boom!!!
He kicked off the ground and jumped.
Jeong Yoo-shin’s sword flashed for a moment.
A swordsmanship that could only be displayed by one whose mental limits had been released on the brink of life and death.
It had no name.
Swish!!!
With a single swing, several lines of light were drawn in the air.
Dozens of tentacles were severed in a single stroke and they all fell to the ground.
The Sweeper’s eyes widened. It frantically tried to create new tentacles, but it was too late.
Jeong Yoo-shin’s sword embedded itself in the Sweeper’s forehead.
Thud!!!
He put his weight into it and pushed it deeper.
“Kikikikik!!! H-How dare… you…?! A mere mortal!!!!!”
The Sweeper’s voice was filled with disbelief.
“This is the end.”
He plunged a spear of light into the Sweeper’s forehead and tore through its brain.
“Kikikik!!!”
The flailing Sweeper immediately went still.
Subjugation complete.
The long, long battle was finally over.
Crash!!!
The space-like background shattered like glass, and they were instantly returned to the original room.
Jeong Yoo-shin collapsed onto the ground.
“Sigh. Shit. Seriously.”
He should have died there, but Death Reprieve had postponed his death, and Revenger had brought him back to life.
He looked up and around.
He saw his party members. Marie was there, as well as the surviving members of the Night of Death clan. They all seemed to have lost consciousness.
He had to clean up too.
Jeong Yoo-shin barely managed to get up and move.
He gathered his party members in a corner of the room and gave them potions. He didn’t know what to do with Barion, so he just gathered their armor pieces.
Karin was the first to regain consciousness, followed by Barion. Marie was still unconscious, but she was stable.
He spent some time comforting the sobbing Karin, who had thought he had died, while stroking her hair.
Finally, only Delia was left.
“Skar.”
Delia barely managed to open her eyes and looked up at Jeong Yoo-shin.
“C-Closer.”
Jeong Yoo-shin approached her, and Delia spoke in a small voice.
“I-I’m sorry.”
“It’s all over. Get some rest.”
“N-No, that’s not it.”
Delia shook her head.
“My negative imprint is…”
Delia whispered something.
Jeong Yoo-shin’s eyes widened.
“What…?!”
“I-I barely held it in, but I’m at my limit. P-Please.”
With those words, Delia closed her eyes.
Fart!!!!!
The sound of something being violently expelled echoed through the resting place. The source was Delia’s ass.
Jeong Yoo-shin, with trembling hands, turned Delia over.
The back of her pants was bulging.
“Huh…”
Karin and Barion, who had approached them, stared down at Delia’s bulging pants.
“…”
They all stood there, speechless.
And then…
Something began to wriggle inside Delia’s bulging pants.
What is that?
A drop of cold sweat trickled down Jeong Yoo-shin’s forehead.
‘Wh-What kind of imprint is this?!’
◇◇◇◆◇◇◇
T/N – Okay, first up what a badass fight. My boy is finally fighting with a proper badass technique. Sure he died somewhere in the middle, but he got up again through sheer spite and killed an eldritch being. That last move was some anime type shit!
Also, wtf is Delia’s negative imprint? Did she shit out some giant worms or something? Don’t tell me it’s the eldritch creature they just killed…
If you find any mistakes, feel free to point them out in the comments.
I wonder what who gave him his new synergy, I knew death reprieve would trigger but he definitely got a huge benefit. Also wriggling mass from the ass? Yikes.
Are we reading the same novel? An outer god that was watching him, bro, linked his imprints together. That’s why Mc gave a little soliloquy to them about how there’s a fire on this planet that will never die out and addressed them by “those who walk among stars”
The sweeper is female and a virgin?
WITNESS MEEE ! hell yeah what an awesome fight . very curious about who helped him and if dalia farted something normal as an chicken egg or we once again got some creepy moment coming up . thanks for the chapter
Tl, the Mc didn’t get back up from a broken neck with sheer willpower and gritting through the pain. An outer god literally improved his imprints to force a synergy. Sure he got back on two legs while in pain, but that’s nothing compared to his plot armor
A bit spoilery, but later chapters do prove that you’re right. Still pretty bad ass though.
I mean, if he got back from getting his neck broken by pure willpower, it would be an even bigger plot armor, having an outer god interested in him is expected.
