The battle was one-sided.

The sturdy armor made of magical power had a simple structure, but that was why it was so efficient as long as the supply of magical power was sufficient.

There was no need for complex calculations or formulas. Just wear the sturdy armor and punch the enemy.

It was a simple, yet powerful talent that combined offense and defense.

That was why Aisha was confident in her victory.

From what she had gathered, her opponent was a balanced back-liner, proficient in buffs and various magic spells.

She seemed to be quite skilled in martial arts, and her firepower was decent for a balanced type, but in the end, minor attacks that couldn’t penetrate her armor were meaningless.

To defeat Aisha, you either had to be proficient in mental-type skills or break her armor with overwhelming firepower.

“Why don’t you give up!?”

Although it was called magic armor, her sharp and hard fists were both her shield and her spear.

The moment her fist landed on the girl’s body, the pitiful pink-haired girl coughed up blood and was sent flying.

It was over.

She had been feeling a bit jealous and thought that she might have overdone it, but she controlled the force enough not to kill her opponent, so it should be fine.

“…You seem to have some leeway left, holding back like that.”

But her opponent got up.

A healing light. It wasn’t strange since she was a priest, but the speed of her healing was unusual.

But so what?

“Are you a fool? Even if you heal, you’ll just fall again and get hurt. Do you enjoy pain?”

“No, but what can I do? The matchup is the worst. If I want to win, I have to bet on a small possibility.”

Win…?

Aisha couldn’t understand what she meant.

“I probably couldn’t have done anything if I didn’t have any information. I should thank you. After I make you kneel.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about, but it’s unpleasant.”

The pink-haired girl’s smile while holding her mace was very unpleasant.

Aisha was fighting a back-liner, a support class, but it felt like she was fighting a berserker…

To deny that unpleasant feeling, she put more strength into her fists and charged.

The mace hit her armor’s head, but she ignored it and rained down punches on her opponent.

If she was going to stand up because Aisha held back, it would be better for her to quickly finish her opponent off with overwhelming force to lessen her pain.

That was what she thought she was doing.

“That hurts.”

But Yoo-na didn’t fall.

The holy spell that was composed of three words healed her bones when they broke and her wounds when they opened, allowing her to stay standing.

The mace hit Aisha’s armor’s head again.

There was no damage, but it was still unpleasant.

She wanted to hit her opponent in the head too, but she hesitated as Yoo-na wasn’t wearing any armor.

…Wait, no armor? Did she not know how to use defensive buffs? Why was she only maintaining the minimum buffs and focusing on healing?

Aisha felt a strange discomfort, as if she was facing an incomprehensible creature.

“What? You have to keep going. Or are you going to give up?”

Why was her opponent talking about her giving up? Wasn’t she the one who was winning?

The mace continued to hit the same spot. Aisha turned her opponent into a mess with her fists, but Yoo-na got back up with healing magic.

“Are you a zombie? Stop joking around and just fall!”

Ah, she was too excited and hit Yoo-na in the face this time.

Even so…

“That hurts. You must be really angry.”

The girl, who was covered in blood, just smiled and got back up again.

“Ah, Lilac would be surprised if he saw this.”

She just said that, wiped her face, and picked up her mace again.

What was she fighting for?

The moment the mace hit the same spot again, Aisha was about to charge while thinking that it didn’t matter, but her balance was a bit off this time.

“Huh? Huh? Huh?”

“Ah, it’s finally taking effect.”

“…Yes?”

“You can’t keep your balance, can you? The armor is really amazing. I hit it several times with a mace enchanted with , but you’re only a little dizzy right now.”

“…Tr-Tremor?”

“Yeah, it’s a spell that makes the object it’s enchanted to vibrate. Not many people know about it since it’s not very useful, but it can shake people up quite a bit if you stack it.”

So that’s why she had been feeling strangely dizzy.

“Even if you block the physical impact, you can’t stop the armor itself from shaking and rattling your brain. Honestly, I would have lost if I didn’t have that information.”

Who told her about a weakness even she didn’t even know she had?

“You didn’t use defensive buffs just to maintain that one buff? Are you in your right mind?”

“…What are you talking about? I can use defensive buffs.”

“…What?”

“I can also use offensive buffs and magic too. I just chose the most efficient path to be certain.”

“Certain…?”

“It consumes less magical power to heal injuries with holy spells than to maintain defensive buffs. The effect appeared a bit earlier than I thought, but I couldn’t let the spell run out if you endured for a long time. I had to be as efficient as possible.”

Was it normal for a person to endure pain just to be a little more efficient?

“I don’t usually go this far, but you crossed the line. How can I forgive a bitch who looks at Lilac like that?”

Aisha hurriedly dispelled her armor and created a new one.

“Ha, ha. This should do it. It was a mistake to reveal my hand while thinking I had won. Now, let’s start over.”

“I told you so you would know, but it doesn’t change anything.”

“…Yes?”

“How many more times can you make that armor?”

She knew even that?

The armor was sturdy, but creating it consumed a lot of magical power.

The maximum number of full-body armors Aisha could use consecutively in combat, without focusing on healing, was four. She had already used two, so she only had two left.

“About two more times, I think. Meanwhile, I can do this as much as I want.”

“You’re crazy.”

“That’s harsh. But maybe I am crazy. If being crazy in love counts as crazy, then I’ll admit it.”

Yoo-na lifted her mace once more.

Aisha had no chance of winning. To defeat this woman, who got back up like a zombie no matter how many times she was hit, she needed more power.

◇◇◇◆◇◇◇

“…Distance?”

Aisha started to draw on a different kind of energy.

A buff?

This could be dangerous…

Yoo-na stared blankly, then frowned at the sickening energy.

The previously transparent armor was now tinged with purple and was emitting an ominous aura.

The others didn’t seem to know what it was, but Yoo-na knew it very well.

It was very similar to the power that the succubi and Kang So-hyun had used.

‘Is this demonic energy…? No, it’s not pure demonic energy. Is it diluted?’

It was probably an enhancement-type power, but it was difficult to tell how much stronger she had become just by looking.

Just in case, she cast a defensive buff on herself, and at that moment…

…the armor, which had been far away, suddenly appeared in front of her and broke through her defensive buff, and a heavy pain shot through her stomach.

“Ugh… Ah?”

She felt the air being forcibly expelled from her lungs, and her head throbbed with a mixture of heat and pain.

She immediately healed herself with healing magic, but it was still a dangerously powerful attack.

“…This is a bit dangerous.”

So much so that Yoo-na unconsciously let out a weak voice.

◇◇◇◆◇◇◇

I came back after being called away for the incident investigation, and what I saw was chaos.

“Hey! Yoo-na, just give up!”

Ha-ni was yelling at the top of her lungs, and Ga-eul was crying.

What? What was going on?

Lilac hadn’t come yet, probably because he was still in a match.

I understood the situation the moment I saw the arena.

The match was not just one-sided, but was also brutal, and it was a sight I couldn’t bear to watch… Well, not really, but from the perspective of Ha-ni, who cared about her friend, it was quite unpleasant.

The floor was drenched in blood. It must have all been Yoo-na’s.

Well, it was normal for Yoo-na’s friends to be angry, but Aisha probably wasn’t trying to torment her opponent.

She was just attacking recklessly because Yoo-na wouldn’t fall even when she was fighting seriously.

On the surface, Aisha seemed to have a huge advantage, but I knew…

If Aisha couldn’t break her here, Yoo-na would seize the victory.

“What is this? Just fall. You’ll die if you keep this up…!”

Well, she wouldn’t die because of the safety measures, but it wasn’t a pretty sight.

Actually, those two had clashed before I regressed.

Aisha, my subordinate, was using a much stronger black armor, and Yoo-na was a lot more famous back then, with the title of ‘Immortal Hero.’

Yoo-na was trying to kill me, and since I had other things to take care of, I told Aisha to stop her instead.

What did Aisha say when she came back battered and bruised after the fight?

-Crazy bitch! Seriously, a crazy bitch! Captain, how do you deal with her every time!? Is she even human!? I’m never fighting her again! I’d rather die than fight that bitch again! Send someone else!

Back then, I thought ‘You’re the best matchup, so what am I supposed to do?’

Ah, right. So, I threatened her, saying “Then die,” and I remember that she fought her two or three more times while crying.

Yoo-na, who was covered in wounds, chanted another healing spell and healed herself, then raised her mace.

The two clashed, and Yoo-na’s mace hit Aisha’s head, but in return, she was punched eight times.

Ah, she was coughing up blood. Her internal organs must have been damaged…

But I knew better than anyone that Yoo-na wouldn’t stop just because her internal organs were damaged.

Aisha, intending to end the fight, swung her fists wildly.

A significant amount of blood flowed onto the arena floor.

It was over.

If Aisha had been more deliberate and careful, she could have won.

…Because the current Yoo-na wasn’t the monster known as the Immortal Hero yet.

Anyway, it was decided.

You lost, Aisha.

The arena began to vibrate.

There were seven heroes who had almost killed me, and they had all reached a certain level before I regressed.

One of them was the Immortal Hero Yoo-na, and this was her original ultimate move, the one she used to almost drive me to my death.

Although she couldn’t produce the same power as back then, seeing it now after such a long time made my body tremble strangely.

Yoo-na’s overflowing magical power that used the blood scattered on the arena as a medium started to crush Aisha’s armor.

Of course, Aisha was resisting, but it was futile.

Even I couldn’t easily escape it back then.

Blood was closely related to life, so it was a very effective medium for using magic.

And on top of that, Yoo-na’s blood contained a small amount of holy demonic energy, so its efficiency was incomparable to that of ordinary blood.

The three energies, magical power, holy power, and demonic energy, repelled each other, creating an exponential increase in power.

Even if Yoo-na couldn’t control it precisely since she didn’t know why her blood had such an effect, just unleashing the condensed power was enough to defeat the enemy before her.

“Disappear.”

A magic circle appeared, and the circuit was instantly completed using the large amount of magical power filling the arena.

What appeared was the symbol of immortality and purification.

A beautiful bird made of inextinguishable flames.

It was cruder than when I saw it in the past, but the phoenix that was made of beautiful pink flames threw itself at the enemy to burn her.

The flames, the same color as her hair, engulfed the arena.

She failed to control it delicately, but the heat was real.

And…

…she endured it?

Aisha, shattering my expectation, was still standing in the arena.

Perhaps it was because the arena’s safety system weakened the impact, or maybe it was because the enhancement from the contract with the demon was better than I expected.

But even though she endured it, it didn’t mean that she was unharmed. Her proud armor had melted, and her skin was scorched.

Yoo-na, who had exhausted her magical power with that last attack, could no longer heal herself, and Aisha, who had managed to block the spell but was seriously injured, could no longer summon her armor.

From here on out, it was a fight where either of them could win.

…If it were a fight between two humans.

“…Ugh!?”

The strong pain Aisha felt for the first time, and the stress of possibly losing… It was the perfect environment for the contract to progress rapidly.

“…Sigh, that annoying sense of attachment.”

I couldn’t let Yoo-na be in danger.

Just as I was about to offer a helping hand…

“I don’t… need it…!”

The spoiled young lady suppressed the contract and regained her reason.

…Huh? Was she that kind of person?

Of course, she collapsed from the backlash, having exhausted all her stamina.

And only after confirming that Aisha had collapsed and that she had achieved victory did Yoo-na also lose consciousness and collapse.

…They really fought viciously.

[Translator Notes]

T/N – Damn, quite a thrilling match. I honestly am starting to like this Aisha. She has potential and her magic armor talent can grow to something powerful if she was given some opportunities. As for Yoo-na, berserker healers really are scary people to fight. That last spell was pretty impressive too.

Also, I am liking that we are getting more important people that never appeared in the original story or the settings book. It just goes to show that this world isn’t the academy novel that author friend Seo-ha wrote. I always found Seo-ha and the previous MC’s belief that they created this world pretentious. People like Aisha are proof against such a belief.

I possessed the terminally ill character in my friend's disastrous novel. So, it's basically the same as saying I'm immortal.
