I returned to the dormitory after finishing the orientation.

Livia said she had something else to do and hurried back to her dormitory.

Obviously, she was probably preparing for an assassination.

A sweet smell wafted out when I opened the door to my dormitory room.

Instead of Nias, two silver-haired saintesses sat at a large round table, nibbling on tea and snacks.

“Ah, Young Lord!”

Seeing me open the door and enter, Elena immediately stood up with a welcoming smile.

Whipped cream was on the corner of her mouth, which she apparently hadn’t noticed.

Elena looked so innocently unguarded that it felt almost dangerous.

“Elena. You have something there.”

As if used to this, Elin gently wiped the corner of Elena’s mouth with a cloth.

“Mmm. Thank you as always.”

Elena and Elin looked at each other and smiled softly.

Then Elin turned to me and gave a faint smile on her expressionless face.

“It’s been a while, Young Lord.”

I nodded slightly as I walked into the room.

“It has been a while.”

It had been quite some time since we last met.

They had been busy with self-cultivation at the temple, so it wasn’t easy to meet them.

I suppose you could say they were engaged in activities befitting saintesses.

Therefore, their appearance would change considerably each time we met.

Mostly in a positive direction.

Elena and Elin, whom I hadn’t seen in a long time, had become much more beautiful than before.

Elena’s long, flowing silver hair cascaded down her gently rounded curves, with just the ends slightly waved.

Her silver eyes beneath delicate eyelashes shone beautifully like moonlight on a clear night.

With her slightly flushed cheeks and fluffy smile, Elena looked like the very embodiment of purity.

Elin was almost the opposite.

Her silver hair, similar to Elena’s when I last saw her, had been cut significantly shorter.

Instead, it was now a bob that barely touched her shoulders.

Her eyes, similar in impression to Elena’s, had their outer corners slightly upturned, making them look a bit sharper.

However, the faint smile on her lips absorbed most of the impression those sharp eyes gave.

“You two are the same as ever. But… Why are you in my room without permission when you already had tea last time?”

“Nias gave us permission!” Elena said proudly, smiling as brightly as sunshine.

“She’s not the owner of this room, I am!”

When I shouted angrily, Elena made a strange hiccuping sound.

“Oh, that’s right. I’m sorry.”

Elin narrowed her eyes as she patted Elena, who was burying herself in Elin’s arms as if frightened.

“Don’t yell. I’m already tired today. Elena came here to escape from the devotees, so don’t torment her.”

Elin, saying this, actually looked quite exhausted.

Ah, I see.

I gained a tiny realization.

Elena and Elin were saintesses, and most of the Sacred Studies Department consisted of devotees who believed in the gods.

It was only natural that these devotees would go crazy upon seeing the saintesses.

I could imagine how much the two of them must have been harassed.

But compared to Elin, who looked utterly exhausted, Elena seemed relatively fine.

She even looked more lively than usual.

The reason was easy to guess.

Elin must have been thoroughly protecting Elena, just like now.

“…Hah.”

Knowing the reason, I couldn’t bring myself to kick them out, so I just sighed deeply.

“Who brought those?”

“Ah, we received delicious snacks as gifts from the devotees, so we brought them!” Elena said with a bright smile.

Because I had made such a fuss before, since then, Elena or Elin usually prepared the tea or snacks to bring.

Anyway, reassured by that answer, I casually approached the table to pick up a snack.

“Where’s Nias?”

As I put a snack in my mouth and asked, Elena answered.

“She went to mail the letter you wrote.”

Ah, come to think of it.

I remembered writing a letter last night to my father and mother saying I had safely arrived at the academy.

It seems she went to mail that.

As I nodded absentmindedly, Elin swallowed the tea she had sipped and asked.

“By the way, Young Lord. I heard you had a duel today.”

It seems that news had spread even to the Sacred Studies Department.

“Yeah.”

At my casual response, Elena furrowed her brows and asked carefully.

“Were you alright? If you have any injuries…”

“I’m fine. As you can see.”

At my words, Elena smiled as if relieved.

Thanks to Elin thoroughly protecting her, Elena somehow became a truly pure saintess.

She was like a flower in a greenhouse.

No, rather than a flower, she was like the sun that had entered the greenhouse and couldn’t leave.

Perhaps because of this, she readily believed my words.

The problem was that she readily believed other people’s words, too.

If I had to compare, she was like a small-sized Golden Retriever.

On the other hand, Elin wasn’t as pure as Elena.

She was more like a suspicious cat.

She was quick-witted and sharp, making it quite difficult to hide anything from Elin.

“…Nothing serious happened, right?”

Elin seemed worried that I might have been involved in something more serious.

“Of course not.”

I replied curtly while lying calmly.

At this point, if Elin and Elena caught Livia’s eye, it would become even more troublesome.

I didn’t know what kind of misunderstanding Livia might have.

She might even try to kill Elena and Elin.

I couldn’t accept their help.

“You’re not the type to have a duel for no reason.”

Elin looked at me suspiciously as if urging me to tell the truth.

It seemed she intended to keep staring until I told the truth.

So I stared back at Elin, resisting her piercing gaze.

Our confrontation through gazes seemed like it would continue forever.

“Wow. A staring contest sounds fun! Can I join?”

Until Elena obliviously thrust her head between Elin and me, her eyes sparkling brightly.

Thinking that Elin must have a hard time with this oblivious natural, the corners of my mouth naturally curled up.

But thanks to this, the fierce atmosphere between me and Elin dissipated.

Perhaps Elena had cleverly intervened, knowing everything.

“Well, whatever happened, be careful.”

Elin said as she gently pulled Elena’s head close and hugged her tightly.

Worry was evident in her eyes.

Thankfully, it seemed Elin had decided to let it go this time.

“It’s just this once.”

I added, though.

“Alright. Thanks.”

At my words, Elin smiled faintly as if to say it was nothing.

“And don’t tell Nias about this. She worries unnecessarily to the point of being stupid.”

Elin and Elena looked at each other at my request, their completely identical faces tilting in unison.

“I think she probably already knows?”

It seemed that rumors spread terribly fast in the academy.

A little while later, Nias returned to the room after mailing the letter to Deinhart Castle.

And when she saw me, she burst into tears, asking if I was really alright and if I was hurt anywhere, so I had to spend quite some time comforting Nias.

◇◇◇◆◇◇◇

That night.

I snuck into a certain room and smiled slightly when I confirmed that the lights were off.

I used Void magic to prevent Livia’s surveillance magic from working.

“Senior.”

“Uh… yeah.”

“I’m turning on the lights.”

There was no response to my words.

I waited momentarily, but only small groaning sounds like “ugh…” or “kuh…” came back.

“Senior. Are you really going to be like this? You should at least answer.”

When I asked again, a squeaking voice was heard from inside.

A response close to crying, mixed with shame, flowed out.

“A-Alright. You can… turn them on.”

When I snapped my fingers, making a clicking sound, all the lights in the room lit up at once.

Under the bright light, the figure of the room’s owner standing in a fidgety posture was revealed.

Caiden Adan had removed the bandages compressing her chest and was wearing the school uniform, revealing feminine rounded curves.

Caiden was awkwardly pressing down on the hem of her skirt, her face flushed red like a tomato as she panted.

The long, white legs that had always been hidden by pants were revealed, and they looked pretty nice, better than expected.

The face I thought looked youthful anyway had this kind of secret.

Caiden Adan.

The second son of the Adan duchy, known for swordsmanship, was actually the child of a concubine.

However, the head of the family decided whether to give the family name to a concubine’s child.

The maid who became pregnant after a passionate affair with Duke Adan was driven out of the family due to pressure from the duchess.

The woman drove out of the family and wanted to somehow return to her lover’s side.

If the child born was a boy, he might be given the family name and called back to the family.

The woman strongly hoped for this.

However, what was born was a girl with fair skin.

Even so, the woman didn’t give up.

She raised her daughter as a boy from childhood, thoroughly deceiving the world.

As a result,

The woman and her daughter, disguised as a son, were actually able to be called back to the family.

So, Caiden received the surname Adan.

But their position within the family was still precarious.

What would happen if the duke found out that Caiden was actually a girl and that he had been deceived?

I held this weakness tightly.

“Senior. It suits you well. But you really wore it because I told you to?”

I deliberately spoke as if mocking Caiden.

From now on, I needed to test how far this weakness could make her endure.

At my mockery, Caiden Adan glared at me, grinding her teeth.

“You told me to! And now…!”

Transparent tears welled up slightly under Caiden’s pale eyelashes.

The sight of her trembling finely with shame and humiliation was quite cute.

I thought this might affect Caiden more.

“I didn’t think you’d really do it just because I told you to. I didn’t know you were so obedient, Senior.”

I said nonchalantly as I sat on the sofa without Caiden’s permission.

Caiden’s lips quivered at my rude behavior, but she soon lowered her gaze.

“So Senior, where did you borrow the skirt from?”

When I asked with a curved smile in my eyes, Caiden tightly closed her mouth.

I wanted to test Caiden’s limits.

“Senior?”

Even at my persistent urging demanding an answer, Caiden remained silent.

“Well, I guess I’ll have to let everyone know.”

I sighed as if tired.

As I got up from my seat, Caiden’s breathing became urgent.

“I-I’ll tell you! I’m sorry! I’m sorry…”

I slowly sat back down on the bed.

Caiden sniffled a few times as if suppressing something that was welling up.

And finally, she spoke in a voice mixed with trembling.

“…I, I borrowed it from a friend.”

Caiden’s face was flushed, so she could no longer endure.

Her eyes, cheeks, nose, and ears were all red.

I looked at Caiden’s face and laughed softly.

“Is that so? What did you say when you borrowed it? What did your friend say?”

At my question, the tears welling up in Caiden’s eyes finally fell down her cheeks.

The sound of her sobbing made even my chest hurt, but surely this couldn’t be the end.

“Senior…”

I urged again.
