The lizard beast-person, who was still holding Edel by the hair, chuckled.

“Kid, are you crazy? Barging in here and spouting curses while we’re trying to do business? Your parents did a terrible job raising you.”

“…”

Jeong Yoo-shin silently drew a dagger from his pocket.

The lizard beast-person looked at him, dumbfounded.

“Young friend, if you pull out a weapon like that, our attitude will have to change.”

“Let go of her, bastard.”

The lizard beast-person shook Edel by the hair.

“Ha! Here I am, trying to spread some goodwill in Labyrinth City, and now even brats are causing me trouble. Boys, rough him up a bit. Break his arms and legs and sell him to some pervert. Don’t touch his face.”

““Yes!””

The two human men grinned sinisterly and charged at Jeong Yoo-shin simultaneously.

Just as one of the men was about to grab him by the collar…

Jeong Yoo-shin sidestepped and swung his dagger.

Thwack!!!

The sharp dagger sliced through the man’s finger joints.

*Plop.*

His fingers fell limply on the ground.

“Kyaaaaaaaaaaa!!!”

The man screamed like a stuck pig.

Without pausing, Jeong Yoo-shin swung his dagger again, slitting the man’s throat, then lunged at the other man.

Thrust! Thrust! Thrust! Thrust!

He held the dagger in a reverse grip and stabbed the man twice in the liver.

Then he twisted it and stabbed him in the heart.

And finally, he plunged it deep into the base of his neck.

“Gah!!!”

The man’s body twitched, and he stumbled backward. He then fell to his knees, his head hitting the ground.

Thump!!!

The lizard beast-person released Edel’s hair and looked down at Jeong Yoo-shin.

“Who are you?”

“…”

Jeong Yoo-shin remained silent.

“You think you’re hot shit because you learned a few dagger tricks? I’ll kill you.”

The lizard beast-person drew a dagger and charged at him.

Jeong Yoo-shin threw his dagger upwards.

Edel, who had almost become a hostage, was free. Time to show this lizard what he was made of.

[Sacred Weapon]

Mana particles surged through his expanded mana circuits, responding to his will.

A longsword made of light.

The lizard beast-person’s eyes widened.

“Holy magic?”

No questions, no answers.

Jeong Yoo-shin didn’t even feel like dignifying him with a response.

He just gripped the sword and swung.

Swish!!!

Four lines of light streaked across the air.

Overwhelming speed. Even Jeong Yoo-shin himself couldn’t follow it.

Slash!!!

The sword of light sliced through the lizard beast-person’s arms and legs.

The dismembered body fell to the ground.

Clang.

Then, the dagger Jeong Yoo-shin had thrown up clattered to the floor.

The lizard beast-person writhed on the ground like a limbless insect.

He looked up at Jeong Yoo-shin in disbelief.

Blood began to spurt from the severed limbs.

Sizzle!!!

“Kraaagh!!!”

The lizard beast-person finally seemed to register the pain and began to scream.

Jeong Yoo-shin stepped on the lizard beast-person’s neck.

Crack.

The lizard beast-person’s body twitched.

He pressed down harder, and the lizard beast-person’s neck bones began to shatter.

The lizard man glared at Jeong Yoo-shin while spewing blood.

“Krrrk!!! W-We’re not the only ones…!”

Crunch.

The lizard beast-person then died, his neck broken.

Jeong Yoo-shin removed his foot and approached Edel.

She was still trembling, her eyes wide.

He felt bad for showing her such a shocking scene.

He should have killed them more cleanly.

Swallowing his regret, he placed his hand on Edel’s shoulder.

“Edel, calm down. It’s me, Skar.”

Edel’s eyes widened.

“S-Skar?!”

“I’m sorry I’m late. I should have visited sooner.”

“N-No.”

“Let’s go somewhere safe. Lock up the shop.”

“But Luna!”

“I’ll check on her.”

Jeong Yoo-shin examined Edel, then quickly went to Luna.

Luna was still unconscious.

Her mouth was completely busted from the force of the blow.

Jeong Yoo-shin gently touched Luna’s body.

‘Other than her cheek, she’s not seriously injured.’

He treated Luna with Edel’s help, and then they all left the shop and returned to the inn.

Karin, who had been working at the inn, rushed over in surprise when Jeong Yoo-shin returned.

“Luna? Edel? What happened?!”

“Some thugs were causing trouble at their shop. Luna and Edel were injured. Let’s talk in my room.”

Jeong Yoo-shin took the mother and daughter up to his room on the second floor.

He laid the unconscious Luna on the bed and looked at Edel.

“What happened? Those guys were talking about business or something.”

“Well…”

Edel hesitated, then explained.

Jeong Yoo-shin’s expression hardened as he listened.

‘Pain Relief Cream.’

The narcotic analgesic that was currently circulating in the city.

They had repeatedly tried to force her to sell it, and when she refused, they had resorted to violence.

“Why didn’t you ask me for help?”

Edel looked at Luna with sad eyes.

“It happens often. And you already saved my life. I didn’t want to bother you with such trivial matters.”

“…”

‘Her character is truly remarkable.’

Was it because she had raised her daughter alone for so long?

She always tried to solve everything by herself.

Still…

He couldn’t say anything more after her response.

Edel must be suffering more than anyone.

After a short wait, Luna opened her eyes.

“Mmm.”

Jeong Yoo-shin approached Luna and held her hand.

“Luna, are you alright?”

Luna looked up at Jeong Yoo-shin’s face and then burst into tears.

“Sniff… sniffle…”

Jeong Yoo-shin gently hugged Luna and patted her back.

Luna cried in his arms for a long time, then, exhausted, fell back asleep.

Jeong Yoo-shin stood up.

“Stay here until it’s safe.”

“Skar, I can’t…”

“Please, for Luna’s sake.”

This kind of thing had to be dealt with quickly.

If this dragged out, they didn’t know what kind of retaliation they might face.

“Karin, watch the inn.”

“I’m coming with you.”

“No. You’re the only one I can trust.”

“…”

Karin bit her lip.

“Karin.”

“Sigh. Alright. I don’t know what you’re planning, but don’t get hurt. And don’t overdo it.”

“Okay.”

He rummaged through his belongings, grabbed the single-edged sword imbued with ‘Gale,’ and ran to the monster dismantler shop.

Boom!!!

Jeong Yoo-shin kicked open the door to Aldein’s office and strode in.

Aldein scratched his eyepatch.

“You’ll break the door.”

“Let’s do that thing we talked about.”

Aldein grinned.

“Good. Snout just returned from scouting.”

Snout, who was standing beside Aldein, bowed his head and spoke.

“I’ve identified the organization that’s currently distributing the drug.”

“What kind of organization is it?”

“It’s a new clan called Blackwell. They’re currently based in a corner of the Eastern District.”

Jeong Yoo-shin frowned.

That damn Eastern District again.

Did they get thorns in their mouths if they didn’t cause trouble for a single day?

His stomach churned with anger.

“Do they have any backing?”

Snout shook his head at Aldein’s question.

“No. However…”

“What?”

“There’s a retired explorer involved.”

“Who?”

“Max.”

“Who’s that? Ah! Isn’t he an intermediate-rank explorer? Did he retire recently?”

“Yes.”

“What kind of person is he?”

“He has a pretty good imprint. Probably…?”

Aldein scratched his head and mumbled. Snout quickly interjected.

“He has the Health Strength imprint. His physique and strength increase as his stamina increases.”

An imprint that increased strength and physique just by running marathons?

And he was using such an overpowered imprint to sell drugs?

Truly…

He didn’t deserve to live.

Snout took his time and explained the details of the Blackwell clan.

“…And finally, there are about thirty members in total.”

Jeong Yoo-shin listened intently, then stood up.

“I’ll go.”

“In that body? Aren’t you going to remove your imprint?”

“I don’t think it’s necessary.”

Aldein chuckled and offered him the red single-edged sword.

“Take it.”

“I won’t refuse it, then.”

Jeong Yoo-shin took the red single-edged sword and strapped it to his waist.

“Chief, I have a favor to ask.”

“What is it?”

“I know a pharmacy. Please send someone to clean it up. Snout knows the location.”

“Is there a body there or something? Alright. Snout, send your subordinates to clean up the pharmacy.”

“Yes.”

Snout bowed and left the office.

Aldein crossed his arms.

“Skar, do you have a plan?”

Jeong Yoo-shin spoke.

“Annihilation.”

Aldein’s smile widened.

“Good.”

◇◇◇◆◇◇◇

Late at night…

Jeong Yoo-shin checked his weapons.

One dagger.

The red single-edged sword he had received from Aldein.

And the single-edged sword imbued with the ‘Gale’ spell.

He strapped the two single-edged swords to his waist and left the monster dismantler shop.

Snout led the way for him.

They walked for a long time and arrived at the Eastern District gate.

The guard saw Snout and sighed deeply.

“…Don’t cause too much trouble.”

“We won’t.”

“Pass.”

The guard didn’t even check them and let Jeong Yoo-shin and Snout into the Eastern District.

As they passed through the checkpoint, they saw brightly lit buildings.

Superficially glamorous buildings.

He didn’t feel anything while looking at them.

They walked for a long time while passing through the entertainment district, and arrived at a dark alley.

The alley wasn’t a pleasant sight.

A strange, hazy smoke billowed from the sewers.

The walls were covered in filth and vomit, and drug addicts were lying around like garbage.

They walked through the labyrinthine alleys for about an hour and arrived at a house with a sturdy iron door.

Jeong Yoo-shin tilted his head.

“Is this the place?”

“Yes. I’m sure of it.”

“Snout, hide somewhere.”

“O-Okay.”

He left Snout and knocked on the iron door.

Creak.

A small hatch on the iron door opened, and a man’s eyes appeared.

“Who is it?”

Jeong Yoo-shin looked up with wide, innocent eyes.

“Is this the Blackwell headquarters? I’m here for… medicine.”

“…”

Creak.

The small hatch closed.

A moment later, the iron door opened, and a human man stood there with his arms crossed.

“Are you an errand boy? It’s been selling like hotcakes lately. I’ll give you a good price.”

“Where’s Max?”

The man’s expression hardened at Jeong Yoo-shin’s question.

He had let his guard down because Jeong Yoo-shin looked like a young boy, but the gleam in the latter’s eyes sent a shiver down his spine.

“…You’re not here for medicine, are you?”

“You just figured that out? You’re the shittiest gatekeeper I’ve ever seen.”

Jeong Yoo-shin gripped the red single-edged sword.

He drew his sword.

Swish!!!

The sword sliced through the man’s neck.

Thwack!!!

The severed head flew through the air, hit the ceiling, and fell to the floor.

Thump.

The headless body knelt on the spot.

Gush!!!

Blood spurted from the severed neck.

Jeong Yoo-shin looked down at the blade of his single-edged sword.

This chilling sensation…

It had been a while.

‘Did I tremble a bit? Or was it my imagination?’

He stopped his thoughts. He still had a lot of people to kill. He couldn’t afford to waste time here.

He kicked the corpse aside and entered through the iron door.

“Enemy!!!”

Several tattooed men in the narrow hallway saw Jeong Yoo-shin and shouted. A wooden door opened, and more men rushed out.

“What?!”

“That brat cut down Hughie with his sword!”

“Is he crazy?! Does he know where he is?!”

“Sigh. Hughie, that bastard. He’s been taking too much medicine lately. His brain must be fried.”

“I told you we shouldn’t have made him the gatekeeper.”

The men in the hallway drew their weapons and muttered.

Shing.

Jeong Yoo-shin drew the single-edged sword imbued with ‘Gale.’

The sight of the men densely packed in the hallway made him want to vomit.

“Kill him!!!”

“Don’t go easy on him just because he’s a kid!!!”

The men charged down the narrow hallway.

His hands itched.

He had originally planned to save this for a life-or-death situation, but he couldn’t hold back.

How fast would it be?

He gripped the two single-edged swords, crossed them in an X, and pulled them apart with all his might.

‘Here I go.’

Thump!!!

Jeong Yoo-shin stomped his foot and…

Lunged forward, swinging the two single-edged swords horizontally.

Swish!!!

Jeong Yoo-shin’s body stretched out for a moment.

A streak of light.

For a split second, he could clearly see the men swinging their weapons in slow motion.

Slash!!!

The blades of the two single-edged swords mercilessly sliced through the men’s bodies.

Clang!!!

And as if that wasn’t enough, the two single-edged swords scraped against the stone walls of the narrow hallway, creating sparks.

From the entrance of the hallway to the end…

He moved at lightning speed, cutting down everything in his path.

In an instant, thirty men were reduced to dismembered corpses.

“Sigh.”

Insane performance.

He had literally crossed the hallway with the speed of a ‘gale.’

Shing!

He swung his sword to shake off the blood.

Snout, who was standing at the entrance of the hallway, turned pale.

“S-Skar?!”

Snout called out to Jeong Yoo-shin from a distance. Jeong Yoo-shin gestured.

“Come quickly.”

Snout cautiously walked down the narrow hallway.

The clan members were all dismembered and dead.

Some had died instantly without even knowing what had happened.

Others stared at their severed lower bodies while flailing their arms.

It felt like a nightmare.

If hell existed, this was it.

“Ugh!!!”

Snout barely managed to suppress his urge to vomit as he walked through the hallway, which was covered in blood, guts, and filth, and reached the end.

At the end of the narrow hallway was another iron door.

Jeong Yoo-shin knocked on the iron door.

“S-Save me!!!”

A trembling voice came from behind the iron door.

“Who are you?”

“I was kidnapped from the Western Pharmacists Guild!!! They said they’d pay me a lot of money, but they locked me up and forced me to do illegal things.”

“Open the door. Before I break it down.”

“O-Okay.”

Rumble.

The door opened, revealing a group of people in white coats.

Among them stood a mole beast-person.

Jeong Yoo-shin approached the mole beast-person.

“You know Max, right? Where is he?”

“I-In the entertainment district.”

“Be more specific.”

The mole pharmacist stammered as he explained.

Snout, his face pale, nodded.

“It seems like he’s quite close.”

“Snout, call your subordinates and have them watch these guys. I’ll go alone and take care of Max.”

“Are you sure you’ll be alright?”

Snout asked cautiously.

“Don’t worry. You just saw what had happened.”

“But… who are you?”

The mole beast-person asked hesitantly.

“Me?”

Jeong Yoo-shin took the black sunglasses from the mole beast-person and put them on.

Strange. All the mole beast-people he had seen so far were wearing black sunglasses.

“I’m Skar, from the Labyrinth City Drug Enforcement.”

“…”

Jeong Yoo-shin turned around and left after saying his piece.

“…Drug Enforcement? Labyrinth City has something like that?”

The mole beast-person muttered blankly.

[Translator Notes]

T/N – And the mass release ends here. I hope you enjoyed it.

Damn, that was cleaner than I thought. He was still brutal, but he also finessed his kills, though it’s probably due to his smaller body and his recent training kicking in. As for the ‘Gale’ spell use, I kinda feel like it’s a waste of a charge, but I also get why the MC used it here. It deals with the mooks faster and cleaner, and it’s like getting a new car, you’d want to give that baby a test run.

If you find any mistakes, feel free to point them out in the comments.

What happened to the novel? Will it be dropped or get the fanfic treatment?

Well, there’s also the fact that, rather then saving them all for when it’s life or death and not knowing what it’s capable of, it’s probably better to get an idea of exactly what you can expect from the Gale spell in a relatively low risk environment, even if it expends one of the charges.
