The schedule for the summit taking place in the Republic of Bostania was a total of 5 nights and 6 days.

On the first day of arrival, the entire schedule was essentially to safely reach the accommodation.

By the time they were assigned accommodations and unpacked their luggage, it was already 8 pm.

The main schedule began the next day.

The leaders of each country delivered speeches at the Parliament of the Republic of Bostania, followed by the start of the summit in the midst of gathered reporters.

Of course, an informal meeting disguised as a meal was also held afterward, and the contents were immediately conveyed to Werner Grimm and the National Security Strategy Agency.

-The division of Titan-occupied territories will be equally distributed among all surviving nations.

-The 5 surviving nations are recognized as members of the United Nations as victors in the war against the Titans.

-The rights of the governments-in-exile existing in each country are not recognized.

-All weapons of mass destruction in possession will be completely dismantled.

As soon as he heard the contents of the problematic meeting, Werner Grimm couldn’t help but let out a hollow laugh.

Although it seemed perfectly normal on the surface, the underlying meaning was not necessarily benevolent.

First of all, equal.

How could they equally distribute land?

The quality of the soil, terrain, underground resources, and the presence or absence of various fortresses and military facilities built due to the war against the Titans had not been properly investigated.

In such a situation, equal.

They say equal, but it was obvious that if things went wrong, they would criticize each other while raising the veins on their necks.

And the second and third points were clearly visible without needing an explanation.

The gathering of the leaders of each country after 20 years.

However, many things had changed between 20 years ago and now.

Even the leaders of the countries who had set foot on this land were distinctly different from 20 years ago.

Some countries had disappeared in the meantime.

Yet, while not recognizing governments-in-exile, they recognized only the 5 surviving nations as members of the United Nations.

It was an implicit agreement not to tolerate the rampancy of any country other than themselves.

The countless refugees who had only looked forward to the end of the war with the Titans would suddenly lose that goal overnight.

But to be coldly honest, for Werner Grimm, the utterly sinister ulterior motives of the leaders were none of his business.

The most important thing to him was the safety of his loved ones.

Honestly, it didn’t matter at all whether immigrants were persecuted or governments-in-exile were formally recognized.

As long as it had nothing to do with war.

‘The problem is that Wales seems to dislike the Empire.’

Indeed, Werner Grimm’s vision was not wrong.

Signs of isolation were already starting to be felt.

Ironically, due to Werner Grimm’s existence, the damage suffered by the Empire was negligible compared to other countries.

The war with the Titans had changed everything.

The current population of the Republic of Bostania, which had a total population of 300 million before the war, was 130 million, more than half of which had been cut off.

170 million lives, surpassing the population of a decent-sized country, had crumbled into the ashes of war.

Wales and Svarog were no different.

Even the East Country, which had survived on a far-flung continent, had most of its infrastructure destroyed.

The fourth point, ‘complete dismantling of weapons of mass destruction,’ was an agenda that precisely targeted the Empire, whose technological capabilities still seemed intact.

“Armaments Department Head.”

“Yes, Director.”

“What did you think of Bostania’s military capabilities?”

“They gathered them to show that they were still viable in their own way, but their overwhelming industrial capabilities that once dominated the world seem to have reached a miserable level.”

The tank, known as the prince of ground warfare, was the bottom line.

Nothing had changed from the appearance of the outdated tanks confirmed in the military data.

Of course, that was because the Republic of Bostania had voluntarily emasculated its industrial capabilities.

Bostania was a capitalist society to the bone.

Although it was once called by the romantic name of Pax Bostania, the dark side left in that society was as full of despair as the hope they dreamed of.

Naturally, the first ones to be pushed into the bloody battlefield were the poor without any backing.

It was a time when proper information about the Titans had not been obtained.

Behavior patterns, combat methods, they knew nothing and were pushed onto the battlefield.

Bostania’s modern military doctrine was written with their blood and flesh.

As the poor were swept away like that, the next were the immigrants.

In fact, it was not strange that the poor and immigrants were unknowingly being treated the same.

Although some immigrants had achieved social success, the majority of them were in charge of the lower class of society.

Even after the poor and immigrants disappeared from mainstream society, the war with the Titans did not end.

In the end, what they chose was the middle class.

The situation of the middle class was complicated.

The middle class, who had once pointed fingers at the lower class together, now divided themselves into ranks.

Those who could not pay war development funds to the state were pushed onto the battlefield as the price.

Occupations with lower importance, including office jobs, disappeared with a single finger of the parliament.

Of course, the situation was no different even for technicians and professionals.

Even such occupations were often dragged away under the pretext of total mobilization, with titles such as technical administrative soldiers or military doctors.

Not only that, but a country that once took multiculturalism and immigration as its main values.

A country that was once called by the romantic nickname of the ‘Bostanian Dream’ was thoroughly dismantled.

And now that the war is over.

The once glorious Republic of Bostania was inevitably settling its karma.

“Except for the navy, there is nothing to be wary of. If their industrial capabilities are at this level, it will take quite some time to recover.”

“Then the Republic of Bostania is put on hold for now.”

The name of the Republic disappeared from Werner Grimm’s mind.

And at the same time, the East Country also didn’t need to be greatly guarded.

They would have to cross the ocean and pass through Bostania and Svarog to reach the Empire.

In the end, the most threatening countries were undoubtedly Wales and the Svarog Federation.

Wales with its relatively intact industrial capabilities.
The Svarog Federation with its overwhelming population.

They were all burdensome enemies for the Empire.

Once they crossed the line, it was clear that those four countries would unite and turn the Empire into a rag.

“Was there anyone in the National Security Strategy Agency fluent in foreign languages? It would be perfect if it was Welsh or Svarogian.”

“There are three individuals from Wales. As for Svarog, the Information Department Head Dante is from Svarog.”

“There won’t be any problems then.”

Now, the time had truly come to discuss conflicts between humans.

The world had begun to stir, with only a brief moment to celebrate the regained peace.

But the aftermath came faster than expected.

Boom!!

The memorial service, which was the last schedule of the summit.

The moment the five leaders were about to pay their respects at the memorial tower built for the spirits who had crumbled in the fight against the Titans.

“The price for the hypocrites!!!!”

One of the people mixed in the crowd threw a bomb at the leaders.

Boom!!

A massive explosion echoed through the memorial park.

Screams were heard from all directions.

Having experienced a similar situation just a few months ago, Werner Grimm quickly grabbed Karin and Edward and threw them to the ground as soon as he heard the terrorist’s roar.

But coincidentally, Werner himself was caught in the explosion.

There was more than one terrorist.

“See the world!!”

Boom!!

Werner’s body was thrown forward by the shock wave that erupted from behind.

Werner rolled miserably on the ground.

Beep—.

A ringing that seemed to tear his eardrums pounded his head, and someone’s blood flowed thickly on his face.

Werner instinctively checked his hands and feet.

A numbing pain.

Blood flowed from the scratches all over his body, but both arms and legs were intact.

It was thanks to the bulletproof material of the National Security Strategy Agency’s uniform.

Eventually, Werner looked ahead.

People running away, those bleeding and pleading for help, those screaming and lying helplessly on the ground.

The background of the memorial park was overlaid with a gray fortress.

“Director…!!”

In the middle of that fortress, a black-haired woman was reaching out her hand towards him.

And behind her, a Titan in human form was about to press the switch of a bomb.

Werner’s eyes flashed.

Protect.
As it had always been.

Condemn those who stand in your way and harm your people.

‘That’s right.’

What is allowed to you is not peace.

Don’t try to break free from that duty.

‘I shall do so accordingly.’

I won’t regret it.

I won’t regress.

Because I promised to do so.

Because I vowed never to sacrifice my precious ones again.

Because I decided there would be no memory recovery.

Because I declared that I would bury the terrible memories of the Graveyard in my heart.

Bang!!

With a single gunshot, the Titan who was about to shout something fell.

Whether it was human or Titan no longer mattered to Werner.

At this moment, he was in the Graveyard.

The place where those sacrificed to the Titans were buried.

And this place, where the Empire’s watchman, Luthers Edan, stood, was truly worthy of being called the Graveyard.

Anyone, anything that tried to disrupt the peace.

They would meet their death at his hands.

At first, I thought Bostanian was modeled after Bosnia, but it was actually the American city of Boston. Wow hahahaha, what creativity.

The five nations inspirations goes as following:

Empire – Germany/Holy Roman Empire

Wales – United Kingdom/Great Britain

Svarog – Russia/USSR

Bostania – United States but with a Gilded Age mentality

Eastern Country – China/Japan/Korea
