The moment I checked the state of the room, I immediately moved forward, but Sen leaped upwards, grabbed the lamp, and hung upside down from the ceiling.

“I’m not sure what’s going on, but this person seems quite important.”

“Don’t interfere without reason.”

This atmosphere was the complete opposite of her usual playful and smiling demeanor. She glared at me with a voice and gaze as cold as a sharpened blade.

This was the Chokugen Faction.

The murderous intent that a mere 18-year-old could exude was beyond normal.

“Ugh.”

Feeling the sharp, tingling murderous intent, even May, standing behind me, frowned and glared at Sen, but Sen paid her no attention.

“Come down for now. I rushed in thinking you might kill Demallico, but I have no intention of harming you.”

“……”

Sen, staring intently into my eyes as if trying to read my sincerity, sighed and came down.

“You’re not very surprised.”

“I always felt your behavior was a bit contrived.”

Eve, being sensitive, must have felt it to some extent.

With just that much of an explanation, Sen’s eyebrows twitched slightly. It seemed to bother her that she was a bit noticeable.

“So, can you explain what’s going on?”

Demallico, almost out of his mind, was just nodding his head. Meanwhile, his skin flaked and fell to the ground more and more.

Sen pondered for a moment before speaking out in resignation.

“This guy has some business with the thugs selling the tobacco he’s buying.”

“That’s it?”

“What more do you expect?”

From her perspective, she might think he’s hiding something, but knowing she’s part of the Chokugen Faction, I could tell she wasn’t acting alone.

‘The Chokugen Faction has some business to attend to.’

Thinking this, I didn’t feel like interfering, but May behind me suddenly took action.

“You nearly killed Demallico, and we stopped you. Should I report this and get you expelled? Answer me.”

It seemed she was angry seeing the state of her friend, but unfortunately, she picked the wrong opponent.

“So what?”

“What?”

“Do you know how he got the upper hand on the dean?”

Suddenly, Sen pointed at me with her chin.

“He tried to record the dean’s room, but the security was tight. He used you because acting rashly might get him caught. He attached a recording paper to you. In other words.”

Sen pointed at May sharply.

“You handed over your’s and the dean’s control to him.”

“Me?”

“Stupid girl. After all that, now you’re happily following him around? Seeing you satisfied with just dealing with some school thugs really shows your level, May Plov.”

For the first time, Sen’s expression changed.

It was a mix of contempt and mockery.

“I can see what you’re made of, May Plov.”

“You bitch!”

Eventually, May couldn’t hold back and charged forward, throwing a punch, but Sen easily dodged and tripped her, causing May to fall embarrassingly.

Sen was about to kick May when I blocked it with my foot.

“Enough.”

“If that was the case, you should have shut me up from the start. You let me be because you thought she deserved to know, right?”

“You’re really just trivial, Daniel, aren’t you?” Sen taunted me with the same mocking smile she had shown May.

“I get that you have power, but for some reason, you’re hiding it. Why? Do you find some trivial satisfaction in that?”

Silence.

“Look at Ares and Rin. They transferred into the third year but became the center of attention with their remarkable abilities. And you? You have the same level of power, so why keep it hidden?” Sen continued, her voice monotonous.

“You’re not interested. You helped Tana and Eve, allied with May and the Dean, freed Hayun from her family’s constraints. But in reality, you don’t care about them, do you?”

Silence.

“You’re a hypocrite, Daniel McLean.”

Silence.

“You want to play the savior, but you can’t follow in Ares’ footsteps because you lack the personal integrity. What will you do?”

Sen looked at me with deepening scorn. Feeling the conversation had ended, I slowly opened my mouth.

“Interesting opinion.”

I nodded my head. Honestly, I agreed with some of it, but that didn’t mean I was going to react impulsively.

“I see you’re provoking me to escape a conversation you don’t want. What I really want to know isn’t your opinion of me. What did you hear from Demalico?”

Her sarcastic smirk disappeared, replaced by an emotionless expression.

I knew she had been provoking May and me aggressively to shift the topic.

It was one of their tactics, after all.

I stared directly at the tight-lipped Sen.

“What? Didn’t they teach you what to do when you’re figured out?”

I retorted with a mocking smile of my own.

“The Chokugen Faction?”

Whoosh!

Sen rushed towards me in an instant.

Holding her dagger in a reverse grip, she launched her body at me. I almost stumbled but was stopped by the wall behind me.

I had been prepared, catching her wrist that held the dagger, which she pressed with trembling strength.

“How did you know about that?” For the first time, genuine emotion appeared on Sen’s face.

Blazing anger.

Her eyes, previously cold, now poured out intense hostility towards me.

“Well. How about asking the all-knowing Chokugen Faction yourself?”

I taunted her with a sneer, and Sen retreated through the open window.

“She ran away?” May asked, still dazed, but I picked up a sword from Demalico’s room and responded.

“It’s not over yet.”

At that moment, Sen flew back into the room through the window, daggers in both hands. I swung my sword in response, feeling a numbness in my hand.

“You need to die. You, May, and Demalico, all because of you.”

Sen had a rope tied around her waist, presumably connected to the rooftop, allowing her to swing back in.

She continued her assault from mid-air, relying on the rope, but as I managed to defend effectively, she swung back out the window.

It seemed she planned to keep ambushing, thinking she couldn’t beat me in close combat.

“I won’t let you escape.”

I too stepped out the window, stepping on the window frame and climbing upwards.

This was the third floor.

I checked the rope tying Sen on the fifth-floor rooftop and leaped over, arriving directly at the rooftop.

Sen followed me to the rooftop to guard the rope.

On the rooftop, May’s group was smoking cigarettes, seemingly having fled to the dormitory after I talked to them on the academy rooftop.

“What, what’s this?”

“Daniel McLean? How did you come up here?”

“Are you with Sen?

I shouted fiercely at the startled guys.

“Didn’t I tell you that you’d be in deep trouble if I caught you smoking? See you later!”

Taking advantage of a moment’s distraction, Sen immediately attacked.

Sensing the dangerous atmosphere, May’s group didn’t look back and left the rooftop.

“Did you really jump all this distance at once?”

Sen seemed a bit surprised at my jump from the third floor to the rooftop, but that didn’t stop her attack.

Sen, with swift movements, kept trying to stab at my vital points. I wondered if her dagger was poisoned, but it seemed unlikely, considering this was the academy.

Clang!

I swung my sword, pushing Sen back, and steadied myself.

Demalico’s sword wobbled as if it would break any moment, it was poorly maintained.

“Do you think you can beat me with that?”

Untying the rope around her waist, she wore the same mocking smile as before.

It didn’t seem like genuine mockery, more like a tool used in this situation to provoke the enemy.

But wondering if I could win?

Sorry, but I was confident of my victory.

It wasn’t arrogance, or overconfidence in my abilities, or underestimating Sen.

Confidence came from past experience.

I didn’t remember exactly when.

As usual, wandering the Demon Forest, gathering herbs, I met a girl about my age.

I knew nothing of her noble status, title, or how she ended up in this forest in her state.

I took her in, finding her wandering the forest, her clothes torn, crying and bleeding.

To me, who was bored, it was no more than picking up a cat to raise.

We spent a week together, becoming somewhat close.

But the girl, whose name I never knew, died.

She went to pick herbs nearby and was found cold and lifeless, killed by the daggers of an Chokugen Faction.

I tore the Chokugen Faction to shreds.

It was a vague memory, but watching Sen’s combat style, I became certain.

‘I’ve already killed Sen.’

A woman with white hair, pale and white-skinned as now, but with a hideous, grotesque scar running from her forehead to her chin, and a burn scar over her left eye.

She didn’t say a word, but the image of her small smile at the moment of her death haunted me,

The future Sen.

Thus, holding my sword, I was certain.

“You still have at least 10 years before you should try.”

The current Sen could not defeat me.

Hits different when MC is just like, “oh yeah? That faction of super assassins? They killed a little girl that I had picked up in my last life that I was treating as a stray cat. So I wiped em all out on my own.”
Starting to really understand, this MC is ridiculously strong, or at the very least, very adaptable.

Probably extremely strong, with an emphasis on survival considering where he ended up living. From what’s been said, that forest is basically not something humanity is capable of subjugating, pretty much an endgame dungeon. Even the scourge that wiped out humanity only got to him there after humanity had fallen.
